Overview of abnormal vaginal discharge

Abnormal leucorrhea refers to an increase in the amount of female secretions. Sometimes leucorrhea is a normal physiological phenomenon. If leucorrhea is accompanied by a variety of symptoms, it is necessary to be alert to the occurrence of gynecological diseases. Leucorrhea can be divided into physiological leucorrhea and physiological leucorrhea. Physiological leucorrhea often indicates different diseases according to changes in amount, color, shape and taste.

There are several main sources of pathogens that cause inflammation of the female reproductive system. One is from the beneficial bacteria that parasitize in the female vagina, and the other is from pathogens that invade from the outside. Common diseases include:

1. Fallopian tube inflammation

Leucorrhea is often a clinical symptom of salpingitis and fallopian tube obstruction. According to statistics, factors such as salpingitis and fallopian tube blockage account for the first place in female inflammatory infertility factors, and fallopian tube blockage or obstruction accounts for 1/3 of all female infertility.

2. Endometritis

Excessive vaginal discharge is also an early symptom of endometritis. The uterine wall plays a role in menstruation, reproduction, metabolism and endocrine system. Once inflammation occurs, all of the above functions will be unbalanced, leading to infertility. Severe endometritis, such as intrauterine adhesions, can destroy the consistency and function of the endometrium and cause female infertility.

3. Drug elements

It is mostly caused by the use of estrogen drugs or a weak constitution. The main symptoms are frequent leucorrhea, accompanied by lower back pain and fatigue.

4. Infection

It is commonly caused by purulent bacterial infections such as candidal vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, chronic cervicitis, senile vaginitis, uterine effusion, vaginal foreign bodies, etc. The main symptoms are light yellow or light green, with a fishy smell.

Abnormal vaginal discharge test

To check whether the secretion is normal, you need to observe the amount, color, texture, and smell.

1. Gynecological examination

The examination is carried out from the outside to the inside. First, the private parts, urethral opening, paraurethral glands and Bartholin's glands are examined by inspection, and then the vaginal wall and cervix are observed with a vaginal speculum. Check the appearance of vaginal discharge and cervical secretions.

2. Laboratory examination

(1) pH value: The normal pH value is 3.8-4.4. The pH value of secretions increases when suffering from candidal or bacterial vaginitis.

(2) Leucorrhea cleanliness: Grade III: A small amount of vaginal bacilli, many pus balls and fungi can be seen under the microscope. Grade IV: No vaginal bacilli are seen under the microscope, and except for a small amount of squamous epithelial cells, the main bacteria are pus balls and fungi. Numbers III to IV indicate abnormal secretions, indicating Trichomonas vaginitis. Degrees Ⅰ to Ⅱ are normal.

(3) Fungi and Trichomonas: If Trichomonas or fungi are present, regardless of the number, they will be indicated by " ". The mark " " only indicates that the woman is infected with Trichomonas or fungi, and does not indicate the severity of the infection.
