Is TPPA positive and RPR negative contagious?

Is TPPA positive and RPR negative contagious?

Common diseases include bacterial infection of the endocardium, chancroid, infectious mononucleosis, some infectious diseases such as viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, leprosy, measles, dengue fever, chickenpox, and pneumonia caused by chlamydia or pneumococcus. No further RPR visit is required. Is it an infection if tppa is positive and rpr is negative?

The first situation:

If the RPR test is positive and the TPPA test is positive, the patient has been infected with syphilis and needs immediate medical treatment.

The second situation:

The RPR test was negative and the TPPA test was positive. Analyze the following:

1. Most of them have been infected with syphilis in the past and have recovered or been cured. TPPA will generally be positive for life;

2. In the very early stage of syphilis infection, before 6 weeks, RPR cannot be detected. TPPA usually appears positive earlier than RPR, and RPR needs to be re-examined after 4 weeks.

The third situation:

The RPR test was positive and the TPPA test was negative. At this time, most of the situations are common: laboratory errors, some diseases cause positive results.

The fourth situation:

The RPR test was negative and the TPPA test was negative. Clear syphilis infection. In summary, the diagnosis of syphilis requires that both TPPA and RPR be positive. A single positive indicator cannot be used to diagnose syphilis.

Will TPPA and RPR turn negative?

TPPA is an indicator used for diagnostic tests to determine whether a patient has been infected with syphilis. Patients who have been infected with syphilis have undergone standard treatment. Even if syphilis is cured, the indicator will generally continue to be positive when tested again. This indicator will not become negative over time!

RPR is applicable to the diagnosis of syphilis at all stages. It can be used to observe efficacy, judge recovery, and diagnose recurrence or reinfection. After treatment of early syphilis, the RPR blood cell titer can decrease or turn negative, but in some people, the RPR titer drops from 1:64 to 1:2, 1:1 or even remains at 1:4 or 1:8. It stops decreasing after decreasing to a certain level and never drops to negative, but remains at a relatively low level of positive. This is a state of blood cell fixation, and the patient is generally cured of syphilis and is not infectious.
