What does Rh positive mean?

What does Rh positive mean?

Many women go to the hospital for blood tests when they are preparing for pregnancy, or after having sex. At this time, the test results may show that the rh is positive. Many women don't quite understand this kind of result and don't know whether they are pregnant or not. So, if the blood test is RH positive, does it mean that I am pregnant?

First of all, if a woman's blood test result is Rh positive, it does not mean that the woman is pregnant, it is just one of the results of the blood type test. A person's blood type can be Rh positive or Rh negative. It has nothing to do with whether or not you can get pregnant. It's just a type of human blood type. If you want to know whether you are pregnant, you need to check the blood hcg to confirm it.

Secondly, Rh positive belongs to a relatively rare blood type, which is what we often call panda blood. You should pay attention to avoid accidents at ordinary times, especially internal bleeding. If intravenous injection is required, the blood source may be less. If you want to know whether you are pregnant or not, you need to check the blood hcg. Blood hcg is usually tested one week after intercourse to detect whether pregnancy is present.

In addition, if a woman wants to know whether she is pregnant, then generally the result of a blood hcg test, if it is more than ten, then it can basically be confirmed that she is pregnant. And as the number of days of pregnancy increases, the hcg value will double. If hcg suddenly decreases, it may be an abnormality and the pregnant woman needs to go to the hospital for examination in time.

The advantages and disadvantages of pregnant women with positive Rh blood type

If the pregnant woman's blood type is Rh positive, there is no need to worry. This means that your blood, like most people, has the Rh factor. Babies born to mothers with Rh positive blood are less likely to develop hemolytic disease of the newborn.

On the contrary, if the pregnant woman's blood type is Rh negative and the baby is Rh positive, during the first pregnancy, the pregnant mother and the fetus will react to the antigen and produce antibodies, but the antibody titer is low and generally hemolysis will not occur; if the second pregnancy is still Rh positive, the antigen enters the fetus's body through the embryo and can cause neonatal hemolytic disease. If an Rh-negative mother receives blood from an Rh-positive person before pregnancy, she may develop hemolytic disease in the first child born to an Rh-positive fetus.

Experts remind that pregnant women, as a special group, are prone to produce immune antibodies due to intravenous injection or pregnancy. They should conduct abnormal antibody screening tests to detect abnormal antibodies with clinical manifestations, pay attention to them, choose compatible blood products for infusion, ensure the safety of intravenous injection, and evaluate and predict the occurrence of neonatal hemolytic disease as soon as possible, take effective early prevention measures, and effectively alleviate the symptoms.
