Can I have a baby if I have a positive TPPA?

We all know that there are two basic tests for syphilis: the basic selection test RPR and the TPPA confirmation test. The so-called lifelong syphilis mainly means that a TPPA-positive syphilis test cannot independently turn negative throughout life. But it should be noted that this only refers to a positive test, which does not mean that the virus carriers with such symptoms will spread such symptoms in the group.

Generally, patients who are tested positive for TPPA for the first time should go to the hospital for relevant tests every three months for one year. During this period, if the relevant test data show that RPR is negative, it can actually be considered that the disease has been cured and there is no need for further treatment. Of course, this option of not requiring medical treatment must be based on a doctor's actual diagnosis.

Usually at the time of marriage, a syphilis test may appear in the marital test items, which may detect tppa positive and thus affect the marital life; because it is currently impossible to 100% determine that this symptom is definitely not infectious, therefore, the husband and wife must have corresponding protective measures during their sexual life within six months after marriage. If the relevant test results of the couple within six months show that tppa is negative, then they can consider whether they can have unprotected sexual life. However, relevant examinations should be carried out every three months after marriage for one year. If the RPR results of both husband and wife are negative, then they can conceive during this period. It should be noted that for children born at this time, since the mother provides nutrition for the child during pregnancy, even if the baby shows TPPA positive after birth, it does not mean that the child is infected with syphilis. It is just because the child inherits the antigen in the mother's blood. Generally, such situations do not require intervention and treatment. When the child is about one year old, the positive condition can automatically turn negative.

Syphilis is most contagious in its early stages. As the duration of the disease increases, the infectiousness becomes less and less. But it is not guaranteed to be safe. It is not too late to add unnecessary steps. We should pay more attention to the hygiene of the environment that couples come into contact with in daily life. Maintaining a stable mindset and lifestyle will greatly reduce the probability of infection. Of course, those who test positive do not need to panic too much. They should cooperate closely with the treatment and seek follow-up examinations in time, and the condition can be controlled to a certain extent.
