Pregnant woman with unbearable pain on left side of waist

Pregnancy is a very difficult thing for women, because not only does it take ten months to conceive, but women will also experience various physical problems during pregnancy. Many women will experience symptoms of vomiting and anorexia in the early stages of pregnancy, and swollen feet and difficulty in movement in the middle stages of pregnancy. However, some pregnant women find that the left side of their waist is very painful, even to the point of being unbearable. So what causes the unbearable pain on the left side of the waist in pregnant women?

1. Why does a pregnant woman have left side waist pain?

1. After a woman becomes pregnant, as her abdomen continues to gain weight, in order to maintain the body's balance, her waist muscles will become overly fatigued and cause back pain.

2. The hormone secretion in a woman's body will change after she becomes pregnant. In order for the baby to pass through the birth canal smoothly during delivery, the pregnant woman secretes a hormone that will cause the ligaments connecting the pelvis to relax. This hormone will also cause muscle relaxation, causing the curvature of the spine to increase, which can easily cause back pain.

3. Women's exercise volume will decrease during pregnancy, which will lead to a decrease in basic physical strength. Decreased physical strength will make it impossible to maintain a normal posture, which can easily cause low back pain.

4. The impact on the uterus and fetus during pregnancy can also cause low back pain.

2. Prevention and treatment methods for low back pain during pregnancy:

1. Pregnant women should do more exercise during pregnancy, such as taking regular walks, to enhance the flexibility of the waist and back.

2. Women must keep warm after becoming pregnant and take care to prevent their backs from catching cold.

3. As the belly continues to grow during pregnancy, pregnant women must not walk in high heels. They should wear light, low-heeled shoes. In the middle and late stages of pregnancy, they can frequently massage the waist and back appropriately.

4. Pregnant women should try not to lift heavy objects during pregnancy. If they need to bend over to pick up something, they should keep their backs straight, bend their lower limbs, and straighten their legs after grabbing the object before picking it up. This can prevent the waist from bending and exerting force.

5. Maintain a good walking and standing posture, avoid standing for long periods of time. When sitting down, you can put a soft pillow on your waist to increase the bearing capacity of your waist, or raise your legs. When sleeping, if you are lying on your side, you should bend your legs one in front and one behind. If you are lying on your back, it is recommended that you bend your legs first when lying down, support your pelvis, and then gently twist your pelvis until your waist is adjusted to be comfortably close to the bed.
