What is the cause of androgenic alopecia

Female hair loss is a common problem in clinical medicine. Hair loss in women due to increased androgen is called androgenic alopecia. So what are the actual causes of androgenic alopecia in women? What should we do if female hair loss is more serious? What are the causes of androgenic alopecia? Next, we will introduce them one by one for your reference.

What are the causes of androgenic alopecia in women?

1. Postpartum hair loss

Many women will experience hair loss after giving birth. Postpartum hair loss in women is closely related to the tendency of androgenic alopecia. During pregnancy, women's body estrogen levels are relatively high, even several times higher than normal. After giving birth, the body's estrogen levels gradually decrease, and women will experience mild hair loss.

2. Iron is scarce

When women have severe iron deficiency symptoms, hair loss will occur. Insufficient or reduced body iron reserves can cause iron deficiency hair loss in women. When the iron absorbed from daily food is lower than the amount of iron flowing out of the blood, the body's iron composition will be unbalanced and iron protein synthesis will be affected. When the function is seriously ischemic, the growing hair follicles will release blood to supply the body's core organs. At this time, the hair follicles will enter the resting phase and cause hair loss.

3. Vitamin B212 deficiency

Although vitamin B12 deficiency will not nourish the growth of hair, it will cause depression. When the blood cell level is below 300 ng/L, some neurological and psychiatric conditions may occur, most commonly in those who take emergency contraception for a long time.

4. Androgen

Excessive androgen in women's bodies is excreted by the uterus, ovaries and adrenaline. Polycystic ovary syndrome and adrenaline tumors may cause excessive androgen in women. According to surveys, about 70% of women with polycystic ovary syndrome suffer from hair loss.

5. Prolactin

According to hair doctors, prolactin is related to the occurrence of androgenic alopecia in women. High prolactin acts on adrenaline to increase the metabolism of DHEA. Generally, the increase of prolactin is caused by excessive production of the pituitary gland. In addition, emergency contraceptives, antihypertensive drugs, cimetidine and other drugs can also cause hyperprolactinemia.
