Is 17mm of pelvic fluid serious?

What is pelvic effusion? Pelvic effusion is a disease that occurs in women. It is not a common disease, but some women who do not pay attention to hygiene or other aspects may develop pelvic effusion. But some women are very worried about pelvic effusion. So, is 17mm of pelvic fluid the key?

Pelvic effusion of 17mm means pelvic inflammation and pelvic effusion. Under normal circumstances, the effusion does not exceed 1b250m, which is normal and does not require treatment. If the effusion exceeds 1b250m, it is considered to be physiological pelvic effusion. Therefore, pelvic effusion of 17 mm requires early treatment.

If pelvic effusion is not treated properly, the consequences will be serious. It can easily cause pelvic adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, etc., leading to infertility. If you usually have lumbar pain, lower abdominal distension and pain, excessive leucorrhea, enlarged and thickened cord-like discharge, and lower abdominal tenderness during gynecological examination, you may consider chronic pelvic inflammatory disease and need active treatment to prevent the inflammation from worsening and the amount of fluid accumulation from increasing. If there is a chronic infectious disease, it may be an inflammation of the gynecological system such as the uterus, ovaries, and bilateral fallopian tubes. It may also be caused by tuberculosis or a tumor. Pelvic inflammatory disease should be diagnosed early, otherwise it will affect pregnancy.

Very rarely, it is caused by ectopic pregnancy rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, corpus luteum rupture, and ovarian cancer. The vast majority of pelvic effusions are caused by inflammation, that is, caused by extravasation of chronic pelvic inflammation. If there is effusion caused by pelvic inflammation, it is best to perform a posterior fornix puncture to assess the characteristics of the fluid.

Pelvic effusion is the presence of inflammatory exudate in the pelvis, which can occur after pelvic inflammatory adnexitis or endometriosis. It can be divided into two types according to pathological factors, namely physiological pelvic effusion and physiological pelvic effusion. When there is pelvic effusion, you need to eliminate mental worries, exercise, pay attention to reasonable time management, increase confidence in treatment, increase nutrition, and enhance the body's resistance.
