The difference between breast glands and lumps

Breast lumps are a common clinical symptom of breast disease. In other words, mammary gland disease can cause lumps. However, since a variety of diseases can manifest as breast lumps, their characteristics are different. Therefore, our breast disease patients should first master the identification method of breast lumps, which will help detect breast tumors in the early stages. The mammary gland is the main component of the breast, but if there are hard lumps in the breast, it will be similar to the type of mammary gland, which will make many women unable to distinguish. So, how do we distinguish between breast ducts and lumps?

1. The breast is composed of fat, blood vessels, nerves, fibrous connective tissue and glandular duct tissue, as well as the intricate mammary system lobules and tubes. Harmless breast lumps are solid, like dried beans. When performing self-examination, you can find movement between the lumps, and they feel like grapes.

2. The difference between conscientious lumps and cancer is that they can usually be promoted in healthy breasts, but not in breast cancer. Except for these benign lumps which feel relatively soft, malignant breast cancer feels relatively hard.

3. Healthy breast lumps are usually related to the menstrual cycle, and are usually accompanied by fluctuating hormone changes. Therefore, self-examination should be performed a few days after the menstrual cycle ends. Healthy breast lumps are likely to be fibrocystic masses, which are more common and affect most women.

4. Breast fibrocystic disease is generally related to male hormone fluctuations. If the age is close to middle-aged or elderly, the risk will increase, and it will generally disappear after menopause. If a woman has never had children or has irregular menstrual cycles and has a family history of breast cancer, she is more likely to develop breast cancer.
