How to do cervical HPV test

HPV virus infection is one of the viral infections that can easily cause cervical cancer in women, so it is very important to be vigilant. The HPV virus generally occurs in women over 30 years old. Therefore, for women over 30 years old, it is best to do an HPV test once a year so that the HPV virus can be treated in time and effective treatment measures can be taken as soon as possible. But for many women, they don't know: How is HPV testing usually done for women?

First of all, the HPV testing process is not complicated. Generally, you only need to do a routine blood test and a cervical smear test to determine whether the HPV virus exists in your body. The HPV virus does not exist in the blood or cervix, but in the patient's hip nerves. Therefore, blood and cervical smear tests can only determine whether the patient is infected with the HPV virus. The test results only show whether the HPV virus is negative or positive, but cannot determine the type and composition of the HPV virus. Therefore, if you want to know which type of HPV virus you are infected with, you still need to do further quantitative analysis and testing to determine the infection.

Secondly, it is best to go to a professional hospital for HPV testing, because if you test the HPV virus in an ordinary small hospital, as mentioned above, it can only test whether it is negative or positive, but cannot do quantitative testing to determine the virus infection. Some clinics even need to send the test samples to large hospitals, where they are tested and then sent back home, which is a very time-consuming thing. And local disease control centers, or STD clinics, these types of clinics have more advanced HPV virus diagnosis and treatment technologies, so they can detect HPV quickly, the accuracy of the tests, and the speed of treatment are all relatively fast.

The HPV testing process is not complicated and the difficulty is not great, but you must choose a professional and reliable hospital for HPV testing. In addition, it should be reminded that once the HPV virus is detected, it is best to check whether there are any problems with the cervix, so as to understand one's own health status.
