National regulations on feeding time

Female workers should be able to breastfeed their children during the breastfeeding period. In order to facilitate female workers to breastfeed their children, the state also stipulates that employees who work during the breastfeeding period can enjoy corresponding benefits, such as reduced working hours. So, what are the national regulations on working hours during breastfeeding? Let’s discuss it with the editor.

Article 9 of the Regulations on Labor Protection for Female Employees requires that female workers who have babies under one year old should be given two breastfeeding (including formula feeding) opportunities during each shift, each for thirty minutes. For twin pregnancies, the breastfeeding time for each additional baby should be increased by 30 minutes. The two breastfeeding times during each working shift of female workers can be used together. Breastfeeding time and the time spent traveling to and from the enterprise to breastfeed are counted as worker time.

National "Special Provisions on Labor Protection for Female Employees"

Article 9: For female workers who are breastfeeding a baby under one year old, the employer shall not increase the working hours or assign them to work on the night shift.

The employer should allocate one hour of breastfeeding time for breastfeeding female workers during the daily working hours; if the female worker is pregnant with twins, the breastfeeding time should be increased by one hour for each additional baby.
