Two months of missed period

Two months of missed period

What happens if menstruation comes two months later?

Missing menstruation for two months is also a symptom of delayed menstruation. For a normal woman who has no plans to get pregnant, delayed menstruation is most likely to mean that she is pregnant. However, if you are not pregnant, then the absence of menstruation for two months may be caused by gynecological diseases. The following is a detailed introduction to the reasons why menstruation has not come for two months.

What is the reason for menstruation not coming for two months?

1. Pregnancy: If a woman who has had sex recently finds that she has not had her period for two months, she should check whether she is pregnant. Since "menopause" is the first sign of pregnancy, if you have not had sex, or have already taken a pregnancy test, then consider other factors.

2. Abnormal mental state, such as long-term mental depression, tension and anxiety, or severe mental stimulation and psychological trauma, can cause menstrual disorders or dysmenorrhea, or amenorrhea. This is because menstruation is caused by the action of hormones secreted by the uterus and ovaries on the uterine wall. The secretion of hormones by the uterus and ovaries is controlled by the hormones released by the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. Therefore, any abnormality in the function of the uterus and ovaries, pituitary gland, or hypothalamus will affect menstruation.

3. During women's menstrual period, severe cold stimulation will cause the blood vessels in the pelvis to contract excessively, resulting in delayed menstruation. Therefore, women should pay attention to preventing cold and moisture during their menstrual period in their daily life.

4. The body fat of a young girl must be at least 17% of her weight to experience her first menstruation, and the body fat must be at least 22% of her weight to maintain a normal menstrual cycle. Excessive dieting to lose weight will cause the body to consume a lot of body fat and protein due to insufficient energy intake, which will lead to the obstruction of estrogen production and a significant deficiency, affecting the menarche and causing scarce menstruation or amenorrhea. Therefore, ladies who pursue a perfect and slender figure should not blindly follow the trend of dieting to lose weight.

5. Some components and ethanol in tobacco can affect the physiological processes related to menstruation and cause menstrual disorders. Among women who smoke and drink too much, 25% to 32% go to the hospital for treatment due to amenorrhea. Among women who smoke more than one pack of cigarettes a day or drink more than 100 ml of strong liquor, the number of those with menstrual disorders is three times that of women who smoke and drink. Therefore, women should not smoke and drink less.
