Why is the vaginal discharge like tofu dregs?

Every woman discharges a liquid from her vagina, which we commonly call vaginal discharge. Normal leucorrhea is odorless and thick, and changes with the menstrual period. However, many women also have abnormal leucorrhea in daily life, especially problems like leucorrhea like tofu dregs, which also need to be taken seriously.

Why does vaginal discharge look like tofu dregs?

Tofu-like leucorrhea is a leucorrhea symptom unique to candidal vaginitis, that is, the vaginal discharge looks like tofu-like leucorrhea, with a milky white color and small lumps in nature. Since this type of vaginal discharge is mostly thick and yellow, it is easy to distinguish from other leucorrhea symptoms. Tofu-like leucorrhea-like vaginal discharge is a characteristic of candidal vaginitis, but it is generally not easy to be discharged, and most of it remains in the female vagina.

Women suffering from this disease can see that the female vulva and female vaginal wall are often covered with a layer of white film-like substance. If this layer of white film-like substance is removed, the swollen mucosa surface will be exposed, which is easy to be infected by fungi and cause illness. In addition, it is often accompanied by vulvar itching and burning pain. Especially diabetics and pregnant women should be more alert to the appearance of leucorrhea-like vaginal discharge, because pregnant women and diabetics have weaker physical constitution and decreased immunity, and are more susceptible to fungal infection and disease.

The harm of tofu-like vaginal discharge

1. Pathogen infection: The pathogen that causes the increase of tofu-like leucorrhea is Candida albicans, which is infectious and can be transmitted to men through sexual intercourse, causing inflammation of the male urogenital system.

2. Reduce sperm motility: Because candidal vaginitis belongs to gynecological inflammation, a large number of inflammatory cells in the female vagina can devour sperm and weaken sperm motility.

3. Cause various gynecological inflammations: If not treated in time, serious complications may occur, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis and other gynecological inflammations. Severe cases may cause vaginal cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, etc., which will harm women's health.

4. Infertility: If the leucorrhea-like vaginal discharge is not treated in time, it will cause retrograde infection, affect the normal function of the female uterus, affect the fertilization of sperm and egg, and may cause infertility.
