Causes of genital peeling

Causes of genital peeling

Human skin is actually the largest organ in the body, and it is spread all over the body. Although it is the same skin, there are still differences in each part of the body. Just like hands and feet, due to frequent use, they are not as delicate as other skin on the body. Even if they are a little dry and peeling occasionally, there is no problem. But when a woman's vulva peels, it is very worrying. Today, let's talk about the reasons for peeling of the vulva?

Vulvar itching and peeling. Vulvar itching usually worsens during menstruation or after eating irritating foods. Vulvar itching often manifests as paroxysmal, but sometimes it is persistent. When it is severely itchy, the patient will be restless. Long-term itching can cause ulceration, redness, swelling, or secondary infection. Due to long-term scratching, local infiltration, hypertrophy and pigmentation may occur, and peeling may occur. According to the clinical situation that there are only secondary skin lesions but no primary skin lesions, there are several local causes of vulvar itching and peeling.

1. Bad hygiene habits - not paying attention to the local cleanliness of the vulva, long-term stimulation by sebum, sweat, menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, or immersion in urine and feces can cause vulvar itching; sanitary napkins during menstruation and wearing non-breathable synthetic underwear can induce itching due to long-term accumulation of local moisture and heat.

2. Vulvar squamous cell hyperplasia - the main symptom is severe itching, accompanied by whitening of the vulvar skin.

3. Drug allergy or chemical irritation - soap, condoms, benzalkonium bromide, etc. can cause contact or allergic dermatitis due to direct irritation or allergy, and symptoms such as vulvar itching may occur.

4. Special infections - Candida vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis are the most common causes of vulvar itching. Pubic lice and scabies can also cause itching.

5. Other skin diseases - bruises, common warts, herpes, tumors, etc. can cause vulvar itching and peeling.

From what has been said above, we can understand the reasons for vulvar peeling. Due to its physiological characteristics, women's vulva is more susceptible to bacterial infection, so special attention must be paid to its cleaning and daily care. Isn't there a saying that goes, the vulva is also a woman's second face? Therefore, this face also needs to be well taken care of.
