Minimally invasive cesarean section scar

Minimally invasive cesarean section scar

Nowadays, there are mainly two ways to give birth, one is to choose natural birth, and the other is cesarean section. When our health condition does not allow, many people will choose cesarean section, but cesarean section will leave scars, and it takes a certain process for the wound to heal the scar. So let us explain the method of repairing cesarean section scars below.

Surgical treatment for scar removal

Principle: Use surgical methods to reduce the width of the scar or change the shape of the scar toward the skin texture.

Surgery can remove hypertrophic scars and keloids on the abdomen, as well as scars around joints that impede movement. It is often used in conjunction with steroid injections and follow-up treatments with silicone patches. When used alone, it may cause abnormal scar reconstruction.

Steroid injection

Principle: The treatment of proliferative hemangiomas is achieved by controlling the abnormal proliferation of capillary endothelial cells of hemangiomas and producing the transformation process of neovascularization. Corticosteroid injections are the first-line treatment option for hypertrophic scars and keloids. Intralesional injections every 4-6 weeks are continued for several months or until the scars flatten. Pain during injection often affects patient compliance and may require local anesthesia.

Work stress therapy

Principle: The key is to use pressure to shrink the inferior vena cava in the scar, reduce blood flow, and cause the scar tissue to lack nutrients. The proliferation of scar tissue is significantly inhibited, thus achieving the purpose of scar treatment. It is the standard treatment for hypertrophic burn scars and compression garments are often used in hospitals, although their effectiveness has not yet been established and rigorous clinical evidence is lacking. This unique gauze-like garment needs to be used continuously for approximately 12 months.

Radiation therapy

Principle: The radiation can penetrate the body tissue. When it irradiates the scar tissue, the radiation energy is transmitted to the tissue, causing physical and chemical damage to the scar, thereby inhibiting and destroying the growth of the scar, achieving the purpose of treating the scar. Because of the potential for side effects, radiation therapy is generally reserved for treating adult keloids that have failed other treatment options.

Laser therapy

Principle: Use color light of different wavelengths to act on different tissues, and perform treatment selectively to ensure that the skin is not damaged. The light penetrates into the subcutaneous tissue, turning the particles into powder, increasing their center distance, and then being absorbed and eliminated by macrophages. If the scar tissue is darker in color, the treatment can be repeated several times, continuously changing the wavelength of light. Lasers are used to treat many types of scars, but with mixed results. Despite some promising reports, laser surgery lacks sufficient medical evidence as a new treatment option.

The above are the methods for repairing cesarean section scars, but among the many repair methods, there are physical repair methods, surgical scar removal methods, and drug scar removal methods. We cannot blindly choose a repair method. We should choose it according to our own needs. It is more effective to carefully choose the scar removal method according to our own physical condition.
