How long does it take for female seborrheic hair loss to heal?

Speaking of hair loss, although it is a common physiological phenomenon, if your hair starts to fall out in your 20s, it is likely caused by a disease, such as seborrheic alopecia. Seborrheic alopecia is an abnormal hair loss condition caused by genetic factors. Although it affects men more than women, women also have a certain probability of suffering from this disease. So, how long will it take for women’s seborrheic alopecia to heal?

Seborrheic alopecia, also known as androgenic alopecia, usually begins at around the age of 20 and is a progressive, slow hair loss on the forehead, temporal area, and top of the head. It can occur in both men and women, but is more common in male patients.

There are many causes of seborrheic alopecia, the most fundamental of which is genetics. This genetic manifestation is selective. The patient's hair follicles on the top of their head have congenital structural defects, which will cause degeneration and atrophy prematurely. Secondly, it is related to the level of male hormones in the body. Because there are androgen binding receptors in the special male cells of hair follicles, the level of androgen will also affect the degeneration and atrophy of hair follicles. In addition, hair loss is closely related to external factors such as improper diet, lack of sleep, mental stress, depression, heavy workload, etc.

Seborrheic alopecia is a progressive process, so early treatment is emphasized, including internal and external medications and hair transplantation.

prevention

Avoid overwork, pay attention to rest, and ensure adequate sleep time;

Avoid prolonged swimming:

A large amount of bleach is used in public swimming pools for sterilization and disinfection, but bleach is irritating to the skin. Long-term contact will make the scalp and hair dry, and make hair loss more likely in patients with seborrheic alopecia. Therefore, you should wear a silicone swimming cap when swimming in a public swimming pool, and avoid swimming for too long as it will damage your hair.

Pay attention to ventilation:

Hair cannot tolerate stuffiness and heat. People who wear hats or helmets will make their hair breathable for a long time, which can easily damage the hair. In particular, the pore muscles at the hairline that are compressed by hats or helmets are prone to relaxation, causing hair loss. Therefore, the ventilation of hats and helmets should be improved, such as adding hollow hat liners or adding small holes.

Avoid exposure to the sun:

The ultraviolet rays in sunlight can damage your hair, causing it to become dry and yellow. Therefore, you should avoid sun exposure in the summer and take precautions when swimming or sunbathing outdoors.
