Why pregnant women give birth to boys

Why pregnant women give birth to boys

After pregnancy, the probability of having a boy or a girl is half and half. Some people prefer boys and some people prefer girls. Generally, to determine the gender of the child, a B-ultrasound is required. However, there is a saying that pregnant women with numb hands will give birth to boys. This strange phenomenon is definitely puzzling. So, why do pregnant women give birth to boys? Let’s take a look below.

There is no reasonable reason for a pregnant woman with numb hands to give birth to a boy, because judging the gender of the fetus based on the numbness of the pregnant woman's hands is an unscientific and wrong method. Generally speaking, to determine the gender of the fetus, color B-ultrasound examination, amniocentesis, and maternal DNA blood test can be used.

Why do hands feel numb during pregnancy?

In fact, there are three main reasons why expectant mothers experience numbness in their hands during pregnancy. One reason is that your hand was pressed while sleeping, the second is due to edema, and the third is due to calcium deficiency.

1. Pressed

If the expectant mother's hands feel numb when she wakes up from a deep sleep at night, the most likely cause is that her hands were pressed while sleeping. After a pregnant mother has been pregnant for 3 months, her belly will swell up. She will be very careful when sleeping and will use her hands to protect her belly, which can easily cause her hands to be pressed.

2. Edema caused

If the expectant mother is in the late stage of pregnancy and has edema, the numbness in the hands is caused by the edema. Blood and lymph fluid will seep out and affect the carpal tunnel in the hand. The carpal tunnel is connected to the palm. The increased pressure inside the carpal tunnel compresses the nerves in the hand and causes numbness in the hand. Numbness in the hands of pregnant women caused by this reason often occurs after they fall into a deep sleep at night.

3. Calcium deficiency causes trouble

Some pregnant women asked again, I am not in the late stage of pregnancy, or I don’t have edema, why do I still have numbness in my hands? That means you may be calcium deficient. As the fetus's bones develop, the expectant mother's demand for calcium will increase. However, the calcium you get from daily food is far from enough to meet your own and your baby's growth needs. When there is insufficient calcium in the body, the body's bone calcium will be mobilized to meet the needs of the fetus, resulting in numbness in the hands.
