Things to note before cervical biopsy

Cervical biopsy is a common medical method. This medical method is best performed during menstruation. It cannot be performed during menstruation or before menstruation. In addition, you cannot have sexual intercourse, vaginal douching or sitting baths before cervical biopsy to reduce the impact on the results of cervical biopsy. After cervical biopsy, women should also pay attention to vaginal hygiene and take good post-operative care.

Before taking a cervical biopsy, you should pay attention to the following points:

(1) It is best not to have sex one week before and during menstruation to prevent bleeding and increase the chance of infection.

(2) Vaginal cleanliness should be checked before surgery, and a biopsy can be performed after confirming that there is no vaginitis.

(3) Blind biopsy should be avoided, and multiple biopsies should be stained with iodine. If colposcopy equipment is available, biopsy can be performed under colposcopy to improve diagnostic accuracy.

(4) Since there may be some bleeding at the biopsy site, sexual intercourse, vaginal douching or sitz bathing should be avoided within 1 to 2 weeks after cervical biopsy. If vaginal bleeding (heavy menstrual flow) occurs, go to the hospital for examination and treatment.
