Serious consequences of fungal vaginitis

Vaginitis is the most common gynecological disease. Once infected, there will be obvious symptoms such as itching and abnormal leucorrhea. There are many types of vaginitis, and candidal vaginitis is a typical one. Some people also call it candidal vaginitis. Candidal vaginitis must be diagnosed and treated in a timely manner, otherwise it will have serious consequences. Let’s take a look at the serious consequences of candidal vaginitis.

1. The main symptoms of candidal vaginitis are itching and burning pain of the vulva and vagina. Some patients also have frequent urination, dysuria and pain during sexual intercourse. In severe cases, the patient may become restless, upset, and extremely painful.

2. The typical leucorrhea of candidal vaginitis is white, thick, curd-like or tofu-like.

3. Gynecological examination revealed geographic erythema, edema, and scratches on the vulva; edema and erythema on the vagina, and white lumps on the inner side of the labia minora and the vaginal wall. After erasing, the mucosal surface is left red and swollen, and in a few cases, erosion and superficial ulcers can be seen.

4. Some patients do not have the above typical characteristics, but only feel vulvar itching, and the leucorrhea is watery or thin, clear serous exudate. Candida species can also be detected in these patients through laboratory tests.

5. The above symptoms of candidal vaginitis during pregnancy are more obvious, which has a great impact on the physical and mental health of pregnant women.

6. Candidal vaginitis recurs repeatedly, and the affected area spreads from the vulva to the perineum, around the anus, and the femoral genital folds, and even to the inner thighs, which is completely similar to acute or subacute eczema. The mucous membranes near the labia and clitoris are thickened, and the skin surfaces that contact each other become red and eroded. In some cases, it can cause tiny white pustules, and in severe cases, ulcers, vulvar pain and local lymph node enlargement may occur.
