Hymen rupture refers to the rupture of a woman's hymen. This happens when a woman experiences sexual intercourse for the first time. When the hymen ruptures, the girl will feel vaginal pain and a small amount of bleeding. At the same time, women should pay attention to the intensity of the first sexual intercourse to avoid damage to the vagina. The rupture of the hymen will not affect the health of women. It is a stage in which women go through changes in their lives, and women need to take safety measures in their sexual life. What happens when the hymen is broken? Since the hymen usually breaks after sexual intercourse, the traditional concept regards the integrity of the hymen as the only way to test whether a woman has had sexual intercourse. When the woman's hymen ruptures during sexual intercourse for the first time, there will be slight pain and a small amount of bleeding. This is what we call "seeing blood" and generally does not require special treatment. However, we do not rule out such situations. Sometimes, because the female's hymen is thick or the hymen hole is too small, or the male's sexual intercourse is rough, the hymen may be torn and bleeding may be heavy. In the most serious cases, not only does the hymen have a large tear, but the labia minora also has tears, leading to heavy bleeding. Sexual intercourse can certainly cause the hymen to rupture, but not all ruptures are caused by sexual intercourse. Vigorous exercise, vaginal medication, and certain heavy physical labor can also cause rupture of the hymen. The hymen and virginity cannot always be equated. We should not equate ruptured hymen with improper behavior. Generally speaking, to determine whether the hymen is ruptured, it is necessary to be examined by a professional gynecologist. It is difficult for women to determine whether the hymen is broken, and even for men who have sexual intercourse with them. Most men and women often use vaginal bleeding to determine whether a woman's hymen is ruptured. In fact, this method is unscientific, because there are many other reasons that cause vaginal bleeding in women, such as vaginitis, uterine fibroids, etc. In addition, some women's hymen ruptures with very little bleeding, and the bleeding does not necessarily flow out of the vagina. How to protect the hymen Protecting the hymen is an important issue in women's health. The hymen can prevent external unclean things from entering the vagina and has the function of protecting the vagina. Before puberty, the ovaries secrete very little estrogen, and the vaginal mucosa is thin, with few wrinkles and low acidity, so the resistance is poor. The hymen has a protective function to block bacteria from invading the vagina. After puberty, with the development of the ovaries, the estrogen in the body increases, the vaginal resistance is strengthened, and the hymen gradually loses its function. The hole in the hymen is a physiological necessity. After a woman matures, the menstrual blood is discharged from the body once a month through this small hole. If there is no small hole in the membrane, the menstrual blood will be blocked by it and cannot be discharged from the body. This is medically called hymen occlusion. If not discovered in time, menstrual blood accumulates in the vagina, and after years and months, it can expand upward to the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes, flow into the abdominal cavity through the distal opening of the fallopian tubes, causing damage to the fallopian tubes, intestinal adhesions, and abdominal infection. |
