I didn't have my period after 7 days of stopping taking Yasmin.

I believe everyone is familiar with Yasmin. It is a contraceptive pill, and a very short-acting one at that. Many female friends who do not pay enough attention to protection during sexual intercourse will suffer from unwanted pregnancy. In this case, they must take this contraceptive pill, but it will make menstruation irregular after taking it. If menstruation does not come for seven days, it will become particularly worrying.

Yasmin® (drospirenone ethinyl estradiol tablets) is a short-acting contraceptive containing a unique progestin, drospirenone, and is indicated for female contraception.

Before starting the pill, women who have not used hormonal contraceptives (in the past month) should start the pill on day 1 of the woman's natural menstrual cycle (i.e., day 1 of menstrual bleeding). It can also be started on days 2-5. In this case, it is recommended to use a barrier method of contraception during the first 7 days of the first cycle.

Women switching from another combined hormonal contraceptive (combined oral contraceptive/COC), vaginal ring, or transdermal patch

It is best to start taking this product on the second day after taking the last hormone-containing tablet of the previously used COC. At the latest, you should start taking this product immediately at the end of the withdrawal period of the previously used COC or the end of the period of using hormone-free tablets. For women who have used vaginal rings or transdermal patches before, it is best to start taking this medicine on the day when the last vaginal ring or transdermal patch in the cycle pack is removed, but no later than the day when the next vaginal ring or transdermal patch is due.

Women switching from a progestogen-only method (minipill, injection, implant) or from a progestogen-releasing intrauterine system (IUS)

You can switch from the minipill to tamoxifen at any time (on the day of removal for implants or IUS, on the day of next injection for injection), but in all these cases, you should be advised to use a barrier method of contraception during the first 7 days of medication.

Women after early pregnancy abortion

You can start taking the medication immediately. In this case, no additional contraceptive method is needed.

After childbirth or miscarriage during mid-pregnancy

Women should be advised to start taking it between days 21-28 after delivery or second trimester abortion. If started later, women should be advised to use an additional barrier method of contraception during the first 7 days of pill use. However, if sexual intercourse has already occurred, the possibility of pregnancy should be ruled out before starting to take this product, or you should wait until the first menstrual period to take it.
