Sacroiliitis in women

Sacroiliitis in women

Sacroiliitis basically occurs in female friends after overwork. With age, the incidence of this type of injury will increase. So you should take good care of your body and stop lifting heavy objects, which will increase the burden on the joints and make the condition worse. You should also do more massage to relax your joints and achieve the purpose and effect of improving pain.

1. Primary sacroiliitis

The activity of articular cartilage cells is low, the supporting strength of soft tissues such as hip muscles is weakened, and the cartilage undergoes degeneration. It is often affected by factors such as age, physique, and genetics. The older you are, the more damage you accumulate. The mucopolysaccharide content in the articular cartilage matrix of the elderly decreases, the fibrous component increases, the toughness of the cartilage decreases, and it is more susceptible to damage and degeneration. The incidence rate is higher in obese people.

2. Secondary sacroiliitis

It can produce biomechanical imbalance, reduce the weight-bearing area, increase the pressure on the articular cartilage in the weight-bearing area, lead to wear of the articular cartilage and cause osteoarthritis. Flat hip, slipped capital femoral epiphysis, uneven joint surface, and mechanical wear can cause osteoarthritis. Certain diseases of the hip joint damage the articular cartilage, such as suppurative hip arthritis, hip tuberculosis, hemophilia, and neurogenic hip arthritis.

3. Promote disease prevention knowledge and protect joints

Let patients have some understanding of the disease, and physical exercise should be carried out step by step to prevent excessive movement and weight-bearing of joints and avoid mechanical injuries to the joints. In severe cases, immobilization or plaster fixation should be used to prevent deformity. Reduce weight and use hand grips or a cane to reduce the load on affected joints. Those who are related to their occupation should change their jobs. Exercises that work on the relevant muscle groups can maintain and improve joint mobility to enhance joint stability.

4. Medication

You can use analgesics when you are in pain, but do not use them for a long time to avoid becoming dependent on them or reducing their effectiveness. You can try to use cartilage protective drugs (such as glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate) to relieve symptoms. If it is a local tender point, the pain point can be blocked, but surgical treatment is not easily chosen.

5. Physical therapy

Heat therapy, hydrotherapy, infrared, ultrashort wave, electrical stimulation, etc. can enhance local microcirculation, relieve tension in muscle and ligament structures, and alleviate pain and other symptoms.
