Early deceleration

Early deceleration

Some people find that their baby's fetal heart rate decreases during pregnancy, and they are worried that it is a sign of fetal arrest. If you have these concerns, you can pay more attention to the results of various fetal tests and then choose the appropriate medical care methods. How to deal with the slowdown of the fetus in the early stage?

The fetal heart rate of the fetus slows down in the early stage, so the uterine contractions are usually mild, and we should control them as soon as possible before they get worse. Usually, you should pay attention to go to the hospital regularly to understand the changes in the fetal heart rate and choose the appropriate adjustment method. If the fetal heart rate continues to show abnormal changes, you may need to stay in the hospital for observation.

If the fetal heart rate slows down due to genetic mutation, it may be related to the contraction of the uterus. If the decrease is greater and lasts longer, the recovery may not be so fast. Therefore, everyone should be prepared for long-term treatment, usually maintain the function of the uterus, regularly monitor the changes in fetal heart rate, avoid excessive exercise, and avoid eating malignant foods frequently. In terms of daily sitting posture, you should try to minimize squeezing the fetus.

The fetal heart rate shows a terminal deceleration, which mainly occurs when the uterus begins to contract and lasts for a relatively long time. The main reasons are abnormal placental function and fetal intrauterine hypoxia. Everyone should understand the manifestations of these adverse reactions, master the appropriate solutions, add enough CO2, keep the surroundings clean, and help babies deal with various adverse reactions.

What is the fetal heart rate? Is everything normal?

I believe pregnant women know that they can hear the fetal heartbeat when they are 12 weeks pregnant, but the fetal heartbeat at this time is very soft and can only be heard with a Doppler fetal heart monitor or fetal talker. The fetal heartbeat can only be heard by using fetal heartbeat headphones at 18 weeks.

Generally, before 15 weeks of pregnancy, there is no need for ultrasonic Doppler fetal heart rate monitoring. For pregnant women between 15 and 28 weeks of gestation, it is safe to measure three times a day for one minute each time. For pregnant women after 28 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus has completely split and the monitoring time and frequency can be extended. For high-risk pregnant women after 35 weeks of pregnancy (for example, pregnant women with combined pregnancy-induced hypertension, hyperthyroidism, etc.), they should be hospitalized and use a blood pressure monitor to continuously monitor the fetal heartbeat. If necessary, long-term (more than 1 hour) continuous monitoring can be carried out.

Fetal heart rate is a way to predict the well-being of the fetus, so every pregnant woman must keep a record of her fetal heart rate. At this time, pregnant women must understand the standard range of fetal heart rate:

1. The normal fetal heart rate is 120~160 beats/minute

2. Before 20 weeks of pregnancy, the average fetal heart rate is 162 beats/minute

3. The average value during pregnancy weeks 21 to 30 is 147 beats/min

4. The average number of beats per minute in the 31st to 40th week of pregnancy is 139 times per minute

Generally, the loudest fetal heart sounds are heard in the pregnant woman's abdomen above the baby's body. Because the position of the fetal head is different, the position of the loudest heart sounds is also different. It is beneficial for pregnant women to learn to count the fetal heart rate every minute. If the fetal heart rate is lower than 120 beats/minute or higher than 160 beats/minute, it indicates that the fetal heart rate is abnormal and further follow-up monitoring is required.
