Can lupus erythematosus have children?

Can lupus erythematosus have children?

Among lupus erythematosus, young women are the most susceptible group. This disease is not only contagious, but once contracted, it has a great impact on people's daily life and work. After suffering from lupus erythematosus, women are most worried that this disease will affect their future fertility. Some women are also worried that this disease is hereditary and will be passed on to their children. If unfortunately they suffer from lupus erythematosus, can they still have children?

People with lupus can get pregnant. Lupus does not affect women's fertility. Most lupus patients have normal fertility and can become pregnant. However, lupus patients need to choose the right time to get pregnant, because lupus patients can only get pregnant if their condition has been stable for more than half a year, there is no damage to the functions of important organs such as the kidneys, lungs, and heart, and they also need to stop using immunosuppressants such as cyclophosphamide and methotrexate for more than half a year. Most lupus patients can give birth smoothly after choosing the right time to get pregnant. However, patients should correctly understand that pregnancy may aggravate lupus erythematosus and the disease may relapse during pregnancy.

What are the dangers of having lupus erythematosus?

1. Digestive system lesions: All parts of the gastrointestinal tract can be affected. About 25% of patients may experience abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting. It is more common in children than in adults, and often occurs at the beginning of the disease or during the active phase. Some patients have hepatosplenomegaly and elevated serum transaminases, but jaundice is rare. Hematological disorders: Half of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus may develop hematological abnormalities during the course of their disease, which are more common during the active phase of the disease and are often the first clinical manifestation of the disease. Anemia is the most common, followed by leukopenia and thrombocytopenia, and pancytopenia is rare.

2. Kidney disease: Kidney damage is a common clinical manifestation of systemic lupus erythematosus. It may manifest as transient mild proteinuria and microscopic hematuria, which will disappear once the acute condition is controlled. It may also manifest as nephrotic syndrome: large amounts of proteinuria, hypoproteinemia, edema, etc. In severe cases, there are symptoms of acute nephritis or chronic renal failure such as hypertension, oliguria, urinary retention, azotemia, etc. I believe that most patients are deeply aware of these phenomena.

Health massage for patients with lupus erythematosus

(2) Use the thumbs of both hands to press the patient’s liver and spleen points for half a minute, until a sore and swollen feeling appears.
