Pregnant women cannot take medicine or receive infusions after they contract a disease and can only receive conservative treatment. However, when they develop a disease such as rubella, they must take some medicine for treatment. However, there are many medicines that pregnant women cannot take to prevent the birth of a deformed baby in the future. Once these problems occur, the pregnancy should be terminated and delivery should not continue. Most non-lethal malformations do not require surgical intervention during pregnancy, such as congenital heart disease, which can be treated surgically after birth. However, some fetal malformations may affect the intrauterine safety of the fetus and require intervention during pregnancy. Due to the high risks and technical requirements of the operation, most intrauterine fetal treatments are still in the experimental stage. 1. Intrauterine treatment Fetoscopic surgery is mainly used to treat twin-twin transfusion syndrome or fetal reduction. Used to treat fetal diaphragmatic hernia, meningocele, urinary tract obstruction, etc. 2. Postpartum treatment Such as ventricular shunt surgery for hydrocephalus, cleft lip and palate repair, surgical treatment of congenital heart disease, and drug treatment for phenylketonuria. 1. Premarital medical examination: some diseases found through examination, such as hepatitis B and sexually transmitted diseases, will affect the health of offspring and cause fetal malformation. Pregnancy can only be achieved after the diseases are cured; 2. Make good preparations before pregnancy, have a prepared and planned pregnancy, and conduct some necessary examinations, such as rubella virus testing. Rubella virus infection can cause congenital heart disease, congenital deafness, cataracts and other malformations in the fetus. Rubella virus infection can be prevented by getting the rubella vaccine. 3. Taking folic acid before pregnancy: Starting taking folic acid three months before pregnancy can effectively prevent fetal neural tube defects. 4. High-risk pregnant women should receive prenatal consultation. 5. Regular prenatal check-ups after pregnancy: avoid exposure to adverse environments and drugs, quit drinking and smoking, do Down syndrome screening, B-ultrasound examinations, etc., and perform prenatal diagnosis when necessary to detect fetal malformations in a timely manner. 6. Consult a doctor when medication is needed to avoid improper use of medication that may affect the fetus. Through prenatal diagnostic techniques such as fetal system ultrasound and amniocentesis, many malformed fetuses have been diagnosed in utero. However, the current prenatal diagnosis rate of fetal malformations is not satisfactory. The main reasons are: ① some malformations are difficult to detect in utero; ② the limitations of prenatal diagnosis technology itself; ③ the limitations of medical conditions make it difficult to carry out prenatal diagnosis widely. |
