How to reduce uterine size when suffering from adenomyosis?

Nowadays, many women suffer from a disease called adenomyosis. This disease has a great impact on the female body and greatly affects women's health. There are many reasons for this disease, such as too much stress in life, too many abortions, etc. This disease will make women's uterus become very large. In this case, people need to take some measures to shrink the uterus. Here we will introduce how to shrink the uterus if you have adenomyosis.

Adenomyosis is a disease in which the endometrium is differentiated and forms on the myometrium of the uterus. Women call it adenomyosis and it belongs to intrinsic endometriosis. Normal endometrium only grows on the surface of the uterine cavity. If it grows downward beyond this range and invades the muscle layer, it becomes a disease called adenomyosis.

Adenomyosis is pathologically characterized by hypertrophy of the uterine myometrium, island-like distribution of endometrial glands and stroma between the muscle walls, and hyperplasia of smooth muscle fibers. The main clinical manifestations are dysmenorrhea, increased menstrual flow and enlarged uterus. Because there is a lack of submucosal layer under the basement membrane of the endometrium, and adenomyosis is often accompanied by uterine fibroids and endometrial hyperplasia, some people believe that the invasion of the basal endometrium into the myometrium may be related to the stimulation of high estrogen.

Generally, hormonal drugs can temporarily shrink the uterus, but there will be a rebound phenomenon after stopping the drug. The effect varies from person to person, and not all of them can achieve the expected effect. It is generally not recommended for patients with adenomyosis who do not want to have children or who are about to enter menopause. After menopause, the uterus gradually becomes smaller.

The patient is young and the symptoms are not severe, so he can be observed and treated symptomatically. Progesterone, androgen, cottonyphenol, etc. can alleviate the symptoms. For patients with severe symptoms or who do not need to preserve fertility, a hysterectomy can be performed, and the ovaries should be preserved if possible. If the patient has pelvic endometriosis, the lesion will be removed as much as possible while preserving ovarian function, allowing the patient to enter natural menopause. If it is discovered during surgical exploration, consideration should be given to removing the adenomyoma and preserving the uterus.
