Will cervical erosion recur after surgery?

Will cervical erosion recur after surgery?

In fact, women do not have to worry too much after suffering from cervical erosion, because surgical treatment of cervical erosion can achieve more significant therapeutic effects. However, after the operation, the cervix still needs to be cared for, because if you do not pay attention to care, it may cause the disease to recur. At the same time, excessive sexual intercourse is also an important cause of cervical erosion, so the frequency of sexual intercourse should be reduced after surgery. So what is the possibility of recurrence of cervical erosion after surgery?

If you follow the doctor's instructions after cervical erosion surgery, it generally will not recur. The following conditions can lead to relapse:

1. Frequent sexual activity

During the treatment of cervical erosion, it is not advisable to have sexual life because the wound has not yet completely healed. However, some patients do not listen to the doctor's advice, which reduces the efficacy or even makes it ineffective. People who have excessively frequent sexual life after treatment are also prone to recurrence of cervical erosion.

2. Poor body resistance

Generally, young women have better physical constitutions than middle-aged or elderly people, so they recover faster after treatment. However, some middle-aged and elderly people have poor physical constitutions or diseases such as diabetes, which prolongs the healing time of the wound and will relapse at the slightest triggering factor.

3. Incomplete treatment

During physical treatments such as laser, microwave, and Bom light, if the doctor is not experienced enough, the scope of treatment is too shallow or limited, and the diseased tissue at the erosion site cannot be completely destroyed, it will lead to residual pathological tissue and cause recurrence; some patients cannot persist in treatment, for example: when using microwave to treat moderate to severe cervical erosion, some people need to do it two to three times, but some patients are too lazy to return for a follow-up visit because they have no symptoms or no time, and the treatment is abandoned halfway.

4. Irregular treatment

Some patients think they have cervical erosion and go directly to the pharmacy to buy medicine. This is wrong, at least it is not the right medicine for their condition. I once met such a patient. She used four kinds of medicines to treat cervical erosion for more than half a year, but none of them worked. She still had bleeding every time she had sex. So she went to the hospital for a check-up, and the result was that she had severe cervical erosion. In fact, mild cervical erosion can be cured with drugs, but for patients with moderate and severe cases, the effect of drug treatment alone is uncertain. Granular and nipple erosion is best treated with physical therapy. It is particularly important to note that patients with moderate to severe cervical erosion must undergo an exfoliated cell examination to prevent cervical cancer from occurring without their knowledge.

5. Having sexually transmitted diseases

Nowadays, there are more and more sexually transmitted diseases, such as gonorrhea, genital warts, non-gonococcal infection, etc. These pathogens can invade the cervical epithelium and cause cervicitis. Moreover, cervical erosion and vaginitis are closely related. Long-term vaginal inflammation will cause cervicitis and cervical erosion. Patients with cervical erosion will always relapse if vaginitis is not cured. Pay attention to follow-up examinations during the treatment of cervical erosion.
