Cervical cancer stages

Cervical cancer stages

Cervical cancer has become a problem that female friends have to pay attention to, because cervical cancer is mainly a cancer caused by human papillomavirus. Women can go to the hospital to get cervical cancer vaccine to prevent the occurrence of this cancer. There are many types of cervical cancer, and the mortality rate varies for different types of cervical cancer. Specifically, how many stages can cervical cancer be divided into?

Stages of cervical cancer:

Stage 0: Cancer cells are still confined to the epithelial area of the woman's uterus and are considered carcinoma in situ.

Stage 1: Cancer cells are confined to the cervix, but starting from the first stage, cancer slowly begins to show symptoms of invasion.

Stage II: Cancer cells have invaded the female's vagina but have not yet reached the lower 1/3 of the vagina, or have invaded the connective tissue beside the uterus but have not reached the pelvic wall.

Stage III: Cancer cells have invaded the lower 1/3 of the female vagina, or have damaged the pelvic cavity and caused bilateral hydronephrosis.

Stage IV: Cancer cells have already broken through the reproductive organs, or have gone beyond the pelvic cavity to directly invade the rectum or bladder, or have even metastasized to distant locations.

Cervical cancer may not have obvious symptoms in the early stages, and people will not have special physical signs. The earliest clinical symptom is vaginal bleeding, which initially manifests as a small amount of contact bleeding. Many women will actually have intermittent bleeding with a bad odor after menopause. In the late stages, there will be symptoms of heavy bleeding, and people will also be accompanied by weight loss, fever, anemia, and other peripheral compression manifestations, such as abdominal pain, urgency, frequent urination, sciatica, etc. In severe cases, it may also cause uremia, systemic failure, and life-threatening.

When we use hysteroscopy for examination in the early stages, it is difficult to find abnormalities. When the lesions are more obvious, there will be symptoms such as erosion, ulcers, and growths. At this time, we can confirm the disease through pathological examination. The metastasis of this disease is mainly lymphatic metastasis, and blood metastasis is relatively rare.

Now we should know the staging of cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is clinically divided into several stages. If it is in the first stage, then the treatment is relatively easy, but in these two stages, it is also difficult for people to detect symptoms. This requires us to go to the hospital for physical examinations regularly. If any abnormalities are found, we must also cooperate with the doctor to do a biopsy to confirm the condition.
