Can early cervical cancer be cured?

Can early cervical cancer be cured?

Cervical cancer is a common gynecological disease in clinical practice. It is a relatively malignant disease among gynecological diseases. Most cervical cancers in clinical practice are caused by infection with the HPV virus. Therefore, when you discover symptoms of cervical cancer, you must undergo timely examination and diagnosis to avoid missing the best time for treatment. Cervical cancer needs to be treated as soon as possible in its early stages. So can early cervical cancer be cured?

1. The cure rate of early cervical cancer is relatively high. The cure rate of stage 0 cervical carcinoma in situ is close to 100%, and the cure rate of stage IA is above 95%. The cure rate decreases in stages IB and IIA, but can still reach nearly 80-90%. But the prerequisite is that they must receive regular treatment. Early-stage patients generally choose surgery as the first choice, such as total hysterectomy or radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer. For patients who have contraindications to surgery or cannot tolerate surgery, radical chemoradiotherapy can also be considered, and the treatment effect is equivalent to that of surgery. It can be said that cervical cancer is a cancer that can be cured through early prevention and early detection.

2. The cure rate of early cervical cancer can reach over 90%. The early stage of cervical cancer is not cervical cancer, so it can be completely cured. There are two types of cervical precancerous lesions: low-grade lesions and high-grade lesions. If it is a low-grade lesion, it is necessary to determine whether it is a high-risk infection or a low-risk viral infection based on the type of human papillomavirus infection. If it is a high-risk infection, the next step is to do a colposcopy. The next step is to determine whether a biopsy is needed based on the results of the colposcopy. The next step of treatment is determined based on the pathology of the biopsy. If it is a high-grade cervical lesion, a cervical cone resection is required. The next step of treatment will be determined based on the pathological results after cone biopsy.

3. Because the progression of cervical cancer is very slow, it takes years or even decades from viral infection to final canceration. It is a preventable and curable disease. As long as you have regular gynecological examinations, you can detect and treat cervical precancerous lesions in time and stop their development into cervical cancer. In addition, in the early stages it is confined to the cervix and has not spread to other surrounding tissues. As the disease progresses, the patient will have an increase in vaginal discharge, and it will not be difficult to detect it at this time, so it can be effectively nipped in the bud in the bud. Therefore, once it is discovered in the early stages, or confirmed in the hospital, it can be cured as long as active treatment is received.
