If it is diagnosed in the early stages and surgery is performed in a timely manner, it can be cured, and the 5-year survival rate can be greater than 100%, and can even reach a survival time of more than 20 years.

For patients with breast cancer, if they are in the late or advanced stages, they undergo surgical treatment and need additional intravenous chemotherapy or radiotherapy after surgery. In this case, survival time varies from person to person, especially for triple-negative breast cancer.

Many patients experience local recurrence or metastasis to distant organs one year after surgery, and from a clinical therapeutic perspective, they have not yet achieved complete cure. Therefore, although breast cancer patients undergo surgical resection, their specific survival period is also related to the biological behavior and pathological classification of the tumor.

Many breast cancer patients can be cured after surgery.

Generally, breast cancer is divided into four stages. Stage four is the late stage, and the effect of surgical treatment is relatively poor. If the patient's cancer is in stage one to stage three, surgery can be performed to completely remove the breast. Depending on the condition of the axillary lymph nodes, if there is metastasis, lymph node dissection is required. If there is no metastasis, lymph node dissection may not be necessary for the time being.

After the operation, the next treatment plan will be decided based on the type of pathology, such as chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, targeted therapy, etc. If the patient is in stage I or stage II, the 5-year survival rate can basically reach 90% or even higher. For patients in stage three, the cure rate can basically reach around 80%. Therefore, most patients can be cured after surgery, but they need to go to the hospital for regular checkups.
