What to do if the anterior and posterior wall bulges after childbirth

In fact, natural childbirth is a method of delivery that can cause great harm to the mother's body, because during the process, the mother may suffer from perineal tearing. At the same time, some soft tissues around the vagina will be damaged, so after giving birth, the vaginal tissue of the mother may become loose. Among them, postpartum anterior and posterior wall bulging is a problem that many women will face. What solution should be adopted at this time?

What is vaginal anterior and posterior wall bulging?

1. The vagina is an organ for sexual intercourse and also the passage for the fetus to be delivered. The average length of the front wall of a normal female's vagina is 7-9cm, and the back wall is 9-12cm, which can accommodate 2-3 fingers. Vaginal and perineal tears often occur during childbirth, involving the perineum and the tissues attached to it (such as the urogenital diaphragm, bulbospongiosus muscle, levator ani muscle, etc.), causing relaxation of the muscles around the vagina and widening of the vagina, leading to dissatisfaction with sexual life in the future, back pain, difficulty in defecation, and seriously affecting daily life and the relationship between husband and wife. Surgical repair is often required.

2. Vaginal relaxation is not caused by too much tissue, nor by thick tissue. It is caused by local muscle strain and thinning. Traditional excision and suture methods will make the tissue thinner. The bridge-type vaginal tightening surgery, firstly, does not remove tissue, but sutures the excess mucosa inside and pads the recto-vaginal space to thicken it; secondly, sutures the vaginal circular muscle longitudinally and ties the two ends together in a bridge-like manner, thus shortening the vaginal circular muscle slightly; thirdly, the outer edges of the mucosa on both sides are sutured together in a bridge-like manner, and the mucosa is also tightened a lot. That is, it shortens the vaginal circular muscle and thickens the tissue around the vagina.

Causes of vaginal bulging

1. Vaginal relaxation refers to the decrease in tension of the pelvic muscle groups, which causes the muscles around the vagina to relax, the vagina to widen, and in severe cases, the vaginal wall may bulge. The most common reason is that after natural childbirth, the pelvic muscles do not recover well or are even damaged, causing vaginal relaxation. When the vagina relaxes, the original ability of the vagina to "grip" the penis during sexual intercourse decreases due to the looseness of the vagina, making it difficult to achieve full satisfaction in the contact of the sexual organs.

2. Postpartum recovery exercise is particularly important for women. Even for women who have a caesarean section, the pelvic muscles and ligaments are fully stretched during labor, preparing the birth canal for the baby to be born. Therefore, mothers should perform restorative exercises as soon as possible after delivery, and should pay special attention to the movement of the pelvic muscles.
