Leucorrhea during pregnancy is mostly a boy

Leucorrhea during pregnancy is mostly a boy

Many women will judge the gender of the fetus by physical changes during pregnancy, and increased vaginal discharge during pregnancy is also a situation encountered by many pregnant women. However, increased vaginal discharge during pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon, and the gender of the fetus cannot be judged by vaginal discharge. There is no scientific basis for this.

If I have a lot of vaginal discharge during pregnancy, does it mean it's a boy?

It is unscientific to judge the sex of the fetus by the amount of leucorrhea. The appearance of leucorrhea during pregnancy is a normal physiological phenomenon caused by changes in hormone levels. Because the blood flow in the genitals, vagina, and cervix of pregnant women is vigorous, the tissue water increases, and thus the secretions also increase. As the pregnancy progresses, the amount of vaginal discharge increases, so many pregnant women often feel that their vagina is often wet and uncomfortable. This is a normal phenomenon during pregnancy, so the gender of the child has nothing to do with the amount of leucorrhea after pregnancy.

Causes of increased vaginal discharge

After pregnancy, the corpus luteum of the ovary secretes a large amount of estrogen and progesterone to maintain the implantation and development of the fertilized egg. After 12 weeks of pregnancy, the placenta is formed, which gradually replaces the corpus luteum and continues to synthesize large amounts of estrogen and progesterone. Therefore, pregnant women always maintain high estrogen and progesterone levels in their bodies. As a result, estrogen and progesterone-dependent cells undergo significant changes: the vulvar tissue becomes soft and moist, the vaginal epithelium thickens, the blood vessels become congested, the exudate and desquamated cells increase, the cervix becomes enlarged, soft and congested, and the glandular secretion becomes vigorous. The secretions of the cervical glands, vaginal exudate and exfoliated cells mix together to form leucorrhea, which will be continuously discharged from the body during pregnancy.

After pregnancy, vaginal secretions will increase regardless of whether it is a boy or a girl, because after pregnancy, estrogen will increase thousands of times and vaginal secretions will also increase. Therefore, there is no scientific basis for saying that increased leucorrhea after pregnancy means it is a boy.

After pregnancy, vaginal secretions increase. It is recommended to keep the vulva clean. It is best to wash the vulva twice a day with warm water, change underwear frequently, and wear loose cotton underwear to ensure sufficient local blood circulation.

It is also recommended that you do not have sexual intercourse during the first three months of pregnancy to avoid infection or uterine contraction due to sexual stimulation, which may cause threatened abortion in clinical practice.
