Causes of vulvar itching and growths

Vulvar itching is a very common gynecological disease in women, which is mostly related to infection and inflammation. Some vulvar itching may also cause small bumps or some growths, which makes female friends very panic and worry that they may have a tumor. In fact, it is very common to have small bumps on the vulva, so don’t worry too much. As long as you receive regular treatment, they will get better soon. So, what are the causes of vulvar itching and growths?

Possible causes of the disease:

1. Bad hygiene habits: Not paying attention to the local cleanliness of the vulva, long-term stimulation by sebum, sweat, menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, or immersion in urine and feces can cause pimples on the vulva.

2. Sanitary napkins during menstruation and non-breathable synthetic underwear at other times can induce itching due to prolonged accumulation of moisture and heat in the local area.

3. Special infections: Candida vaginitis and Trichomonas vaginitis are the most common causes of vulvar itching.

4. Vulvar squamous cell hyperplasia: The main symptom is severe itching, accompanied by whitening of the vulvar skin.

5. Drug allergy or chemical irritation: Soap, condoms, benzalkonium bromide, etc. can cause contact or allergic dermatitis due to direct irritation or allergy, resulting in symptoms such as vulvar itching.

Note:

Keep the vulva clean and dry, especially during menstruation, pregnancy and postpartum period, wash the vulva and change underwear every day. Do not wear synthetic underwear or tight pants, wear cotton underwear. When taking a local sitz bath, pay attention to the solution concentration, temperature, time, and precautions. People with vulvar itching should cut their nails and wash their hands frequently, and avoid scratching their skin to prevent ulceration and infection, which may lead to secondary bacterial infection. Do not use irritating soaps, medicines, or water that is too cold or too hot to clean the vulva, so as not to disrupt the acid-base balance of the vagina.

The above are the reasons for vulvar itching and growths. In fact, this is closely related to women’s personal hygiene. Therefore, we must develop good personal habits in life, change underwear frequently, and clean the vulva, so as to avoid genital diseases. At the same time, pay attention to eating more fruits and vegetables in your diet to supplement vitamins and improve immunity.
