Female vagina structure

Female vagina structure

The female vagina is an important reproductive organ in the body. It is very necessary for female friends to pay attention to the protection of the vagina, because in many cases the female vagina is an area prone to infection, and various problems can easily occur if you are not careful. At the same time, everyone should have appropriate knowledge about the vagina in order to protect it more effectively. Today's article will explain the structure of the female vagina.

The biggest difference between male and female genitals is that male genitals can be clearly seen from the outside, while female external genitals can only be seen when the legs are spread.

The female external genitalia is also called the vulva. The mons pubis is a soft mass of fatty tissue that forms a raised area above the pubic bone and is covered by skin and pubic hair.

labia majora (outer labia)

The vagina is a part of the pubic area that starts from the lips to the mons pubis and ends below the vaginal opening; it contains the epidermis, oil glands, adipose tissue, nerve endings, and is covered by pubic hair. The two labia majora are usually tightly connected together, covering the urethral opening and vaginal opening. The labia majora will only open when the woman is sexually aroused or spreads her legs.

The labia minora (inner labia) start from the clitoris and end below the vaginal opening. The labia minora are thinner and have no pubic hair or fat tissue, but have more nerve endings than the labia majora. The labia minora are also called the inner labia, which may also be on top of the outer labia. The color of the labia minora may be different for each woman (pink, red, purple, and blue are all normal), and the color may also change due to sexual desire.

The clitoris is located at the top of the labia minora and can be seen when the foreskin is stretched open. The clitoris cannot be fully seen because it is covered by the labia majora and extends deep into the pubic bone (before birth, the clitoris and penis are made of exactly the same tissue, but due to hormones, they have different appearances in men and women). The clitoris is more sensitive to external stimuli like the penis and will become slightly erect when there is sexual desire. However, it cannot excrete urine out of the body like the penis. The function of the clitoris is generally believed to be to receive and concentrate sexual stimulation.

A very small opening below the clitoris is the urethra, and below that is the vaginal opening. Because these two openings are so close, it is easy to understand why most women suffer from urinary tract infections after sexual intercourse.

Below the vaginal opening, where the labia majora meet, is the flat, hairless perineum, and below that is the anus. The entire female genitals can arouse sexual desire. To avoid urethral or vaginal infections, women should wipe from front to back with toilet paper after defecation to prevent feces from transferring to the urethral or vaginal opening and causing infection.
