What should I do if I have sex after taking the suppository?

Having sex after inserting the suppository will make the drug ineffective, and it may damage your vagina if you are not careful. You should wait until the treatment is completed before having sex, which will be better for your body's recovery. Patients with severe menstrual disorders should not have sex, as it will directly stimulate their vagina and make their menstrual disorder problem worse.

1. Do not have sex during menstruation. During the menstrual period, the acidic secretions in the vagina are neutralized by menstrual blood and become alkaline, becoming a good bacterial culture medium. Sexual intercourse during menstruation can easily bring in bacteria. At this time, the female's immunity will decrease. Once infected, it will cause inflammation of the reproductive organs, which will easily make women suffer from endometritis, endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and may also form anti-sperm antibodies in the body, which seriously endangers women's health and even leads to infertility. If a woman already has chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, having sex during menstruation will cause an acute attack. Having sex during menstruation can also aggravate uterine congestion, increase menstrual blood flow, prolong menstrual period, or increase menstrual discomfort. At the same time, it will also lead to the occurrence of inflammation in men.

2. It is not advisable to have sex if you have severe menstrual irregularities. When the menstrual period is prolonged, the menstrual blood volume is heavy, and the cycle is particularly irregular, it is best to regulate the menstruation before resuming sexual life. Otherwise, under the influence of sexual stimulation, the irregular menstruation phenomenon may sometimes be aggravated.

3. Sexual intercourse should be avoided during the first 3 months and the last 3 months of pregnancy. In the early stages of pregnancy, the placenta has not yet grown firmly in the uterus, and sexual intercourse can easily stimulate uterine contractions and lead to miscarriage. In the late stages of pregnancy, sexual intercourse can easily lead to premature birth, uterine bleeding, or puerperal fever. Sexual activity should also be moderate during the remaining months of pregnancy. The movements should not be too intense and should not put excessive pressure on the female abdomen.

4. After delivery until the uterus recovers (about 6 to 7 weeks), sexual intercourse should be avoided. Otherwise, it may cause inflammation of the reproductive organs, uterine bleeding, or hinder the healing of perineum and vaginal wounds and postpartum recovery. If postpartum bloody vaginal discharge (lochia) lasts for a long time, the abstinence period should be extended accordingly. Women who have undergone episiotomy generally have to wait two months before they can have sex, and it depends on the condition of the wound. Do not have sex within 3 months after cesarean section to prevent pregnancy and uterine bleeding infection.

Sexual intercourse is prohibited after miscarriage. In the early pregnancy (first 12 weeks), sexual intercourse should be abstained from for one month after a miscarriage; in the second pregnancy (middle 16 weeks), sexual intercourse should be abstained from for one and a half months after a miscarriage; in the late pregnancy (last 12 weeks), sexual intercourse should be abstained from for two months after induced labor and delivery. During this period, attention should be paid to diet, rest, and enhanced nutrition. Among them are patients with habitual miscarriage, which is sometimes related to improper sexual intercourse after pregnancy. Therefore, women with habitual miscarriage should be absolutely prohibited from having sexual intercourse once they become pregnant again.
