What organ is next to the uterus?

The uterus is an important organ for women and an important part of the female reproductive system. Generally speaking, whether the uterus is normal has a great relationship with whether a woman can conceive normally. Many people want to know what organs are next to the uterus. In fact, there are many types of trachea next to the uterus, such as the bladder, ureter, rectum, ovary, vagina and fallopian tube!

1. Bladder

A sac-like muscular organ located in front of the uterus. A full bladder can affect the uterus and vagina, so the bladder must be emptied before gynecological examinations and surgery.

2. Ureter

It is a pair of muscular, cord-like tubes, about 30 cm long. It starts from the renal pelvis and descends, passing under the uterine artery 2 cm outside the cervix, and then moves forward and downward to the bottom of the bladder.

3. Rectum

It is connected to the sigmoid colon above and the anal canal below. It is about 15 to 20 cm long, with the uterus and vagina in front. Behind it is the sacrum, the upper part of which is covered with peritoneum, but the lower part is not. The anal canal is about 2 to 3 cm long. During gynecological surgery and delivery, the anal canal and rectum should be avoided from being damaged.

4. Ovaries

The ovaries are located below the fallopian tubes. The outside of the ovaries is connected to the pelvic wall by the infundibulocochlear ligament, and the inside of the ovaries is connected to the uterus by the pelvic ovarian proper ligament. The ovaries of an adult woman are about 4cm×3cm×1cm in size, weigh about 5 to 6g, and are grayish white in color. After menopause, the ovaries shrink, become smaller, and become hard.

5. Vagina

The vagina is located in the center of the lower part of the true pelvis and is the channel for the discharge of sexual organs, menstrual blood and fetus. The vagina is a muscular tube that is slightly flattened front to back. The upper end surrounds the cervix, the front wall is adjacent to the bladder and urethra, and the back wall is close to the rectum, that is, the vagina is between the bladder, urethra and rectum.

6. Fallopian tube

It is a muscular tube that transports eggs, one on each side. According to its structure and function, it is divided into five parts from front to back: the infundibulum - with the abdominal opening of the fallopian tube in the center and thin umbrella-shaped edges. The dilatation or albumen secretion portion is the longest and most curved part. Isthmus - the narrowed part behind the dilatation. Uterine part - enlarged into a sac-like shape with thicker walls. Vagina - thins and curves into an "S" shape, with the rear end opening on both sides of the cloaca.
