Hypoechoic breast mass

The breast is a very important organ for women, but some women may often feel breast pain. When feeling breast pain, they must go to the hospital for examination in time, especially for women who are breastfeeding or pregnant. Generally, B-ultrasound is required when doing breast examination. What happens if the B-ultrasound examination results show a low echo cluster?

Breast hypoechoic mass is a common description that appears in the report when performing clinical breast ultrasound examination. A low-echoic mass in the breast indicates that the echo of the lesion is lower than that of the surrounding tissue, which is called low-echo. A low-echoic mass can be a breast nodule, a hyperplastic nodule, or a tumor growing on the breast. All of these are possible. It is necessary to combine other morphological manifestations of the low-echo mass to make a judgment, such as whether the boundaries around the tumor are clear, the blood flow around the mass, etc. It may even be necessary to combine some other examinations, such as breast mammography, or even breast MRI, to further clarify the clinical significance of the mass.

The low-echo mass under breast B-ultrasound is caused by the occurrence of breast nodules. Breast nodules need to be distinguished between benign breast nodules and malignant breast nodules. Malignant breast nodules require surgery. So, how to distinguish benign and malignant breast nodules under ultrasound? Malignant breast nodules are described under ultrasound as having an aspect ratio greater than 1, unclear nodule boundaries, no capsule, and irregular shape. A BR grade of breast nodules of four or five is a description that tends to be malignant. The description of a benign breast nodule is that the nodule has clear boundaries, regular shape, and an aspect ratio of less than 1. The nodule is rated as level 2 or level 3 in BR grading, both of which tend to be benign breast nodules. Malignant breast nodules definitely require surgical removal. Benign breast nodules, which are relatively small, such as those less than two centimeters, can be examined regularly to observe changes in the nodules. Benign breast nodules that are larger than two centimeters currently need to be considered for surgical removal.

Breast hyperplasia is accompanied by breast nodules, which, according to the description, are cystic and solid nodules. According to the imaging grading of color Doppler ultrasound, if these nodules are grade three or below, they are all benign lesions. Should surgical treatment or conservative treatment be determined based on the size of the nodules? If the nodule is grade four, whether it is category A, B, or C, a mammography examination or a needle biopsy should be performed to further clarify the diagnosis.
