IVF artificial cycle

IVF artificial cycle

When couples undergo ectopic insemination, they must be clear that ectopic insemination does not mean that women do not need to bear the responsibility of carrying a baby. When the embryo has developed to a certain extent, the embryo needs to be transplanted into the woman's uterus, and then the woman will be responsible for the growth and development of the child. The artificial cycle of test tube transplantation also has strict requirements in clinical practice, which is based on the thickness of the endometrium and estrogen.

The standards for in vitro fertilization are that the endometrium is at least 7mm and the hormone is greater than 100pg/ml. After the pituitary downregulation in IVF, superovulation treatment is performed, and embryos are formed after egg retrieval. Any surplus after transplantation is frozen. When performing frozen embryo transplantation, some people have regular menstruation and can use the natural cycle plan, while some people have irregular menstruation, or thin endometrium, or are older, and generally use the artificial replacement cycle plan. In the artificial replacement cycle, the endometrium is prepared first, which takes about two weeks. When the endometrium reaches more than 7mm and estradiol is greater than 100pg/ml, progesterone is used to transform the endometrium and preparations for transplantation begin.

The human fertilized egg is initially wrapped in the zona pellucida, and the embryo must hatch from the zona pellucida before implantation. When the zona pellucida is too hard, too thick, or other reasons cause the zona pellucida to dissolve, the embryo may be unable to hatch, resulting in implantation failure.

Serum HCG is measured 14 days after embryo transfer to determine whether pregnancy is present. Serum HCG is measured again 21 days after embryo transfer to understand the development of the embryo. A transvaginal ultrasound examination is performed 30 days after embryo transfer to confirm whether there is intrauterine pregnancy and the presence of fetal heartbeat.

In our country, people often refer to "in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer" (IVF-ET) as "test-tube baby." In fact, in vitro fertilization is a special technology that takes both eggs and sperm outside the body, allows them to complete the fertilization process in an artificially controlled environment outside the body, and then transplants the early embryo into the woman's uterus to grow into a child. Babies created using in vitro fertilization technology are called test-tube babies, and these children also grow inside the mother's womb. It can be said that "test tube baby technology" is equivalent to "in vitro fertilization".
