Itchy and painful vaginal opening

Itchy and painful vaginal opening

Itch and pain at the vaginal opening is a common private problem among women, and this health problem is usually caused by vaginitis. The incidence of vaginitis among women is relatively high, and it is also a disease that can cause multiple complications in women. If not treated in time, it may even affect the health of the entire reproductive system of women. Here I will introduce you to some relevant knowledge about vaginitis!

1. Causes of vaginitis

Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vaginal mucosa and submucosal connective tissue and is a common disease in gynecological clinics. In normal healthy women, due to its anatomical and biochemical characteristics, the vagina has a natural defense function against the invasion of pathogens. When the natural defense function of the vagina is destroyed, pathogens can easily invade, leading to the occurrence of vaginitis.

2. Symptoms of vaginitis

The main clinical features of vaginitis are changes in the nature of leucorrhea and itching and burning pain of the vulva. Dyspareunia is also common. When the infection involves the urethra, there may be symptoms such as urinary pain and urgency. Common vaginitis includes bacterial vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, and senile vaginitis.

Common vaginitis includes bacterial vaginitis, Trichomonas vaginitis, Candidal vaginitis, and senile vaginitis. Garder et al. studied 1,181 cases of vaginitis and found that 41% were bacterial, 27% were fungal, and 24% were Trichomonas. Senile vaginitis occurs after menopause, oophorectomy or pelvic radiotherapy, and its incidence rate is reported to be as high as 98.5%.

3. Methods for checking vaginitis

1. Gynecological examination

Through routine gynecological examinations, possible sexual diseases are preliminarily screened, and secretion samples are taken for necessary examinations.

2. Vaginal secretion examination

Check the pH value, check the cleanliness of the vagina, and whether there is fungal, trichomonas, or bacterial (clue cells, pus cells) infection.

3. Vaginal secretion culture

Check which pathogen is causing the infection and provide doctors with accurate diagnosis basis.

4. Drug sensitivity test

By detecting which drugs the pathogens are sensitive to, targeted medication can be used to improve treatment outcomes.

5. American True Color Electronic Colposcopy

It can magnify 50 times to accurately and clearly observe the relevant lesions in the vagina, cervix and other parts, and accurately select suspicious parts for live examination. It is of great value for the early detection and early diagnosis of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.
