What are the safe periods before menstruation?

The "seven days before" refers to the seven days before menstruation, and the "eight days after" refers to the eight days starting from the first day of menstruation. If a woman's menstrual cycle is less than 26 days, generally speaking, the "first seven" can still be calculated as a safe period, but the "last eight" does not apply. Therefore, contraception during the safe period is not absolutely safe.

1. Menstrual cycle time: The normal menstrual cycle is 28 days. Occasionally, it is considered normal if the period is advanced or delayed by no more than 7 days. Therefore, the normal menstrual cycle is no less than 21 days and no more than 35 days. The length of the menstrual cycle depends on the length of the maturation period of the ovarian follicles in the woman, while the length of the luteal phase is the same, about fourteen days. If the follicular development period is long, the menstrual cycle will be long, otherwise the menstrual cycle will be short.

2. Menstrual period: Menstrual period refers to the duration of menstrual blood flow. The normal menstrual period for women is generally 2-8 days, with an average of 4-6 days. If your menstruation is normal and there are no other obvious special factors that cause your menstruation to be early or delayed by more than 7 days, or if your menstruation lasts longer, you should consider whether you have symptoms such as irregular menstruation.
