Causes of bleeding in early pregnancy

Causes of bleeding in early pregnancy

It is commonly said that the first three months of pregnancy is a relatively dangerous period. In fact, this statement has a certain medical basis. In the early stages of pregnancy, the mother's body is not focused on the growth of the fetus, so the fetus itself is somewhat weak. Bleeding symptoms are very common in the early stages of pregnancy. This bleeding can be divided into normal and abnormal situations. However, most of them indicate fetal instability. The main causes of bleeding in early pregnancy are as follows.

1. Threatened abortion

If you notice a small amount of vaginal bleeding in early pregnancy, which is dark red or bloody leucorrhea, accompanied by mild abdominal pain and back pain, it may be threatened miscarriage. Statistics show that more than half of miscarriages at this stage are caused by abnormalities in the embryo itself. Other causes may also be due to abnormalities in the mother's uterus, immune system problems, external factors, excessive tension, worry, etc.

2. Ectopic pregnancy

If you experience severe abdominal pain and heavy bleeding after 6 weeks of pregnancy, it may be due to ectopic pregnancy. You should go to the hospital as soon as possible for diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

3. Hydatidiform mole

Patients with hydatidiform mole generally begin to experience irregular bleeding about 2 months after amenorrhea. The amount of bleeding gradually increases, and they will have abdominal pain. They may also be accompanied by symptoms such as severe morning sickness and palpitations.

4. Cervical erosion or cervical polyps

Due to changes in hormone levels after pregnancy, if there is erosion or polyps in the cervix itself, the micro-capillaries in the cervix will rupture, causing small amounts of recurrent bleeding.

5. Implantation of fertilized egg

Some pregnant women will experience implantation bleeding when the fertilized egg implants. This usually occurs around 10 days of pregnancy. When going to the toilet, they will find some blood on their underwear or paper towels, and their stomach will not hurt. Since the bleeding and menstruation occur almost at the same time, some pregnant mothers may not know that they are pregnant.
