How old is a girl's period?

Menstruation refers to the normal physiological cycle of the female body. Girls will have their first menstruation when their uterus and ovaries mature at a certain age. Generally, girls have their first menstruation during puberty, usually around 12-16 years old. With the improvement of the living standards in reality, many girls will mention their first menstruation, and they need to pay more attention to care. During the menarche period, girls need to pay more attention to maintaining hygiene and try to avoid spicy and irritating foods.

At what age is it normal for girls to have their periods?

Menstruation is a sign of the maturity of a girl's ovarian function, and menstruation basically occurs during puberty. Adolescence is the transition period from childhood to adulthood for children, and it is also a stage in which the reproductive organs, endocrine system, and physique gradually mature. Puberty generally occurs between the ages of 10 and 19. Most girls will begin to develop breasts and lungs, grow pubic hair, and have changes in voice around the age of 10 due to changes in hormone levels.

About a year after the appearance of secondary sexual characteristics, that is, around the age of 11-13, most girls will have their first period, usually no later than 15 years old. If a girl has not had her period by the age of 14-15, it is definitely abnormal. It is necessary to see if there is a congenital problem of abnormal development of the ovaries or uterus. She needs to go to the hospital for examination.

For most little girls, the interval between menarche and second menstruation is about 28-30 days. However, since the gonad axis of little girls may not be fully developed, it may cause irregular menstrual cycles, prolonged menstrual cycles, or even amenorrhea, so there are no special regulations on the specific time. Generally speaking, as long as a girl's second menstruation comes about 3 months after her menarche, no special treatment is needed. However, if a little girl who has sex has her menstrual cycle delayed by more than 37 days, she must use a test paper to rule out pregnancy. If you do not have sexual intercourse, irregular menstrual cycles, or delays of more than 37 days are all normal and do not require examination, treatment, or cure.
