Solid ovarian echoes indicate that lesions may have occurred in the ovaries of female friends, and they must undergo corresponding gynecological examinations, such as vaginal examinations and cervical adhesion examinations. These two examination items are mainly to detect the real reasons why these conditions occur, which are generally related to cervical adhesions. Once they occur, they will affect the success of conception and even cause infertility. Abnormal results: (1) Basal body temperature measurement: Progesterone slightly increases body temperature through the body temperature regulation center, causing the basal body temperature to show a biphasic pattern in a normal menstrual cycle. That is, the basal body temperature in the second half of the menstrual cycle is 0.4°C to 0.6°C higher than that in the first half, indicating that the ovarian function includes ovulation and corpus luteum formation. (2) Vaginal exfoliated cell examination observes the percentage of surface, middle and bottom layer cells. The higher the percentage of surface layer cells, the higher the estrogen level. The smears of patients with premature ovarian failure show varying degrees of low estrogen levels or continued mild estrogen effects. (3) Cervical mucus crystallization test: Estrogen makes the cervical mucus thinner, more stringy, and contains fern-like crystals. The more obvious and coarser the fern-like crystals are, the more significant the effect of estrogen is. If rows of ellipses are seen on the smear, it indicates that the hormone progesterone has been affected in addition to the action of estrogen. (4) Blood steroid hormone determination: radioimmunoassay of estradiol, progesterone and testosterone. If the estrogen and progesterone concentrations are low, it indicates abnormal ovarian function or failure. If the testosterone level is high, it may indicate polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian masculinization tumor or testicular feminization. People who need to be checked: middle-aged and elderly women. Possible diseases with positive results: Ovarian inflammation, severe ovarian edema, physiological ovarian cysts, ovarian theca cell tumor. Taboos before the examination: No sexual intercourse three days before the examination. You should fast after 8 pm the day before the physical examination. The examination should be done 3-7 days after the menstrual period ends. Cysts with a diameter of less than 5 cm may be non-neoplastic cysts. Most of them will disappear on their own, but regular follow-up is necessary. If they increase in size, ovarian cyst surgery should be performed immediately. Requirements during the examination: Relax during the examination. The examination may cause physical and mental burden, so you should face it positively and actively cooperate with the examination. After the examination, regular screenings must be performed to often detect ovarian tumors in a timely manner. |
