The reason for breast swelling_What is the reason for breast swelling

If you feel your breasts are swelling, you should get checked out. However, for girls around nine years old, breast swelling is not necessarily caused by pathological reasons, but physiological reasons. This is a clinical manifestation caused before the onset of menarche. However, once your menarche comes, the swelling and pain will disappear naturally and will not have any impact.

What causes breast swelling?

1. Breast pain during adolescence: It usually occurs between the ages of 9 and 13. The pain will disappear on its own after menarche.

2. Premenstrual breast pain: Many women experience breast fullness, hardness, and tenderness before menstruation. In severe cases, the breasts will become swollen and painful with the slightest vibration or collision.

This is caused by increased estrogen levels in the body before menstruation, breast hyperplasia, and edema of breast tissue. The above changes may disappear after menstruation.

3. Breast pain during pregnancy: Some women experience breast pain when they are about 40 days pregnant due to the placenta and villi secreting large amounts of estrogen, progesterone and prolactin, which causes the breasts to enlarge and the pain can last throughout the pregnancy.

4. Postpartum breast pain: Breast fullness, hardness and pain often occur 3 to 7 days after delivery. This is mainly due to breast lymph retention, venous congestion, interstitial edema and obstructed mammary ducts.

5. Breast pain after abortion: This is because the pregnancy is suddenly interrupted, and the hormone level in the body drops suddenly, causing the newly developed breasts to suddenly stop growing, resulting in breast lumps and breast pain.

6. Breast pain after sexual intercourse: This is related to the physiological changes in the breasts during sexual intercourse. People with low libido or disharmonious sex life cannot achieve sexual satisfaction, so breast congestion and swelling are not easy to subside, or they subside incompletely. Continuous congestion will cause breast pain.

Women do not need to worry about this at all, but if the swelling and pain do not ease for a long time, or even become more severe, or if when touching the breast, you find a lump with unevenness, unclear edges, and poor mobility, you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible.

Breast tenderness that occurs too early before menstruation, after menstruation is over or after ovulation, and pain when putting on underwear or touching the breasts are all pathological and can easily lead to gynecological diseases such as infertility and breast tumors. Premenstrual breast pain is an early and important signal of gynecological disease. Strictly speaking, female breasts are part of the reproductive system and are greatly affected by estrogen and progesterone. If the body's endocrine system or ovarian function is disturbed at a certain stage, it will affect the menstrual cycle and breast tissue, thereby causing a series of diseases. The most common and mildest symptom is premenstrual breast swelling.

If necessary conditioning or treatment is not given, more discomfort will occur, such as: premenstrual headaches, irritability, insomnia, even premenstrual body pain, mild edema, etc. These symptoms gradually disappear after menstruation and occur repeatedly once a month. Medically, they are called premenstrual tension syndrome. If things go on like this, breast disease will develop, the most common of which is breast hyperplasia. Menstruation may also be disrupted, resulting in menstrual disorders or amenorrhea, which will lead to infertility.
