Lochia is still bright red after 51 days

Lochia is still bright red after 51 days

After giving birth, many pregnant women finally feel much more relaxed and don’t need to restrain themselves in all aspects. However, there will be trouble with postpartum lochia. If the postpartum lochia is not clean for a long time, it will cause great headaches for pregnant women. So, what should I do if the lochia is still red and hasn’t cleared up 51 days after delivery?

If the lochia has not cleared up more than 50 days after giving birth, it may be caused by poor uterine repair, inflammation after giving birth, or it may be a disease caused by the continued retention of the embryo or placenta. For specific situations, pregnant women still need to go to the hospital for an ultrasound examination to check the state of uterine repair, whether there is any residue in the uterus, and to eliminate inflammation and infection. Only in this way can the cause of the disease be found out and symptomatic medication or uterine curettage surgery can be used to treat it.

Normally, the lochia of pregnant women will be completely clean 6 weeks after giving birth. If it is not cleaned for a long time, it is closely related to the poor repair of the uterus of pregnant women. Therefore, pregnant women should get a good rest after giving birth, avoid staying up late, and avoid eating irritating foods. They can take care of themselves for a period of time and then go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound follow-up.

In addition, pregnant women can also eat some jujube and donkey-hide gelatin to help the body promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and promote the body's blood to be discharged as soon as possible. However, during this period, pregnant women must not seek advice from some elderly people or use some folk remedies to solve the problem of unclean lochia after delivery, as this is very likely to cause some side effects.
