Symptoms of gastroptosis after childbirth

Many women experience adverse effects after giving birth, such as hip pain, abdominal pain, or gastrointestinal discomfort. Many pregnant women will experience gastroptosis after giving birth. Gastroptosis can cause many adverse symptoms, such as stomach bloating, stomach cramps, or tingling and burning sensations, etc. The following is a detailed introduction to the symptoms of gastroptosis after giving birth.

Gastroptosis is actually a common problem in clinical practice. Many patients always complain that their stomachs are bloated and they feel full after eating a little. We call this the phenomenon of early satiety. After eating, your stomach will feel very uncomfortable. After a long period of this situation, your body will become thin and your weight will be very light. You will always want to gain weight, but you will feel very uncomfortable if you eat too much. At this time, you should consider the possibility of gastroptosis. So how can we diagnose gastroptosis? In fact, it is done by doing an upper gastrointestinal tract barium meal. Then in a standing position, after drinking barium sulfate, we will see that the largest curvature of the stomach may sink below the navel or even to the pelvic cavity. At this time, we can be more certain of gastroptosis. Well, once you look at the inward anatomy, you can understand that if your stomach hangs down into your pelvis, something is definitely going to go wrong.

Gastroptosis is also known as gastric mucosal prolapse. Its patients have many clinical symptoms, mainly abdominal pain as the most common clinical manifestation, without obvious periodicity and rhythm. Abdominal pain can be induced after eating, often presenting paroxysmal pain, burning pain, irregular bloating, tingling, etc. may also occur. There are often symptoms such as upper abdominal fullness, belching, decreased appetite, etc., and may be accompanied by upper gastrointestinal bleeding. It is more common in gastric mucosal prolapse. Most of the bleeding is a small amount, and a few may have heavy bleeding or even hemorrhagic shock. Some patients also develop pyloric obstruction, the incidence of which is relatively low. Many patients experience nausea and vomiting during the attack, which occurs after eating. They often have severe upper abdominal pain, and the symptoms can be relieved after vomiting. Physical examination revealed that the patient had obvious weight loss, mild anemia, mild tenderness in the upper abdomen, and when the mucosa was embedded in the pyloric duct, gastric shape, gastric peristaltic waves, and gurgling sounds in the upper abdomen were visible.

The peristalsis of the stomach is very slow, and the food you eat stays in the stomach and is not easy to emptied. Therefore, you will feel uncomfortable after eating and feel hungry at the same time. Generally, for patients with gastroptosis, we would advise them not to exercise after meals to avoid the food in the stomach pressing the gastroptosis deeper or making it droop heavier.

We would advise him to eat less at each meal and have one more meal a day. This way the overall intake can be guaranteed, but the amount of food intake to the stomach each time is small, which can reduce the burden on the stomach.

We let the patient sleep in the right side lying position. In this case, due to the influence of gravity, food can more easily enter our small intestine from the stomach, which can facilitate stomach emptying and absorption and reduce various discomforts caused by gastroptosis. In fact, the treatment of sagging is actually very difficult. Just like when it happens, it is a very, very slow process. Generally, only thin people will have sagging, not fat people.
