What should I do if I reach menopause at the age of 40?

There are two main reasons that lead women to make this decision, namely natural factors and disease factors. Disease factors are also called artificial menopause. The more common one is ovarian disease. As we all know, women's ovaries may have many diseases, such as ovarian cancer, which will lead to a significant decline in ovarian function. Severe cases will directly lead to menopause. It is abnormal for women to go into menopause at the age of 40. How to solve this problem?

What should I do if I reach menopause at the age of 40?

For women, it is normal to say goodbye to menopause around the age of 50, but it is really unacceptable if they reach menopause before the age of 40. However, this "early menopause" trend has been increasing in recent years, especially after the second child policy was relaxed. Even if some people born in the 1970s wanted to have a second child, their ovaries stopped working first.

If just the "period" is gone and it is difficult to get pregnant again, it is not a big deal. However, premature ovarian failure is enough to make a woman have problems such as hair loss, night sweats, insomnia, irritability, weight gain, freckles, large pores, frequent hot flashes, decreased libido, etc., and her face will also age faster, making her look like a greasy middle-aged aunt with a "booster".

What causes the ovaries to age? The exact cause is still unclear, but it is related to genetics, chromosomal abnormalities, viral infection, too many abortions, excessive stress, bad living habits, and one important factor: excessive weight loss.

Approximately 6% of primary infertility cases are due to low body weight. Excessive weight loss can indeed significantly reduce the body fat content, but the estrone produced by fat cells will also be greatly reduced, which will in turn affect the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian gonadal axis. If this situation does not change, you may initially notice that the menstrual cycle is disrupted, the menstrual period is prolonged, vaginal secretions decrease, breasts become smaller, the vagina becomes dry, and libido decreases. Once amenorrhea occurs, the ovarian ovulation function is suppressed, which may eventually lead to premature ovarian failure.

How to prevent premature ovarian failure and avoid becoming a yellow-faced woman prematurely? Here are some suggestions to consider:

1. After the age of 35, if you find that your menstruation becomes irregular or even absent, it is best to go to the gynecology department for consultation and examination in time.

2. Maintain a normal weight and don’t lose weight excessively.

3. Eat less sweets and high-fat foods, and don’t let yourself reach the obesity mark. Just like being too thin, being too fat will also affect estrogen levels, which in turn will affect ovarian function.

4. Develop good living habits, stay up late less, and go to bed before 11pm. Some hormones in the body, especially some hormones related to reproductive ability, are secreted between night and early morning.

5. Do not reject "sexual happiness". Regular sex life is also a "preservative" for the ovaries, but it should be noted that if you do not want to have children, taking good contraceptive measures, and terminating pregnancy through artificial abortion will also accelerate premature ovarian failure.

6. Maintain regular exercise, three to five times a week, and do moderate-intensity exercises such as jogging, brisk walking, swimming, etc. for more than half an hour each time.

7. Try to keep a good mood and overcome negative emotions such as anxiety and depression. If you continue to be in a bad mood, it is best to seek help from a psychologist.

8. Eat more green leafy vegetables rich in folic acid, citrus fruits, and foods rich in vitamins C, E and carotene. Drink about 300 ml of milk every day, or eat some rapeseed, dried shrimps and other foods high in calcium.
