Natural cycle egg retrieval process

Natural cycle egg retrieval process

Most adult women have their menstruation on time every month, and menstruation is also the process of ovulation in a woman's normal cycle. It will be much easier to retrieve eggs during a normal ovulation cycle than during an abnormal cycle. Generally, couples where one of the male or female partner is infertile will choose in vitro fertilization to extract sperm and eggs for combination. Let’s take a look at the natural cycle egg retrieval process.

The most commonly used method of egg retrieval during a natural cycle is through vaginal B-ultrasound guidance. The egg retrieval needle is passed through the vaginal vault and directly reaches the ovary to absorb the eggs. The eggs are then immediately transferred to a culture dish containing embryo culture medium under a microscope and cultured in an incubator at 37°C.

Natural cycle egg retrieval refers to a method of retrieval of eggs without any drugs to stimulate the ovaries to induce ovulation, and the use of assisted reproductive technology to assist pregnancy during the natural development of female follicles. This approach is generally suitable for two types of patients:

1. For patients with poor ovarian function, only one egg can be grown with or without ovulation induction;

2. For patients who are unwilling to use drugs to stimulate their ovaries. At present, this regimen is mostly used in the country for patients with poor ovarian response and repeated IVF failure.

Patients who are expected to be at risk of premature ovulation should undergo a B-ultrasound before egg retrieval to find out whether the follicles have disappeared. If there are signs of premature ovulation, cancel egg retrieval. If the fallopian tubes are unobstructed, the couple can be advised to try to conceive on their own.

If no eggs are retrieved or the quality of the retrieved eggs is too poor for fertilization, the current cycle should be abandoned and one tablet of Dafutong should be taken in the morning and evening for a total of 10 to 12 days to maintain normal menstruation.

For patients who have their eggs retrieved and continue with fertilization, they take medication according to the doctor's instructions. The routine medication is to insert one tablet of Enkitan 100 mg each morning and evening into the vagina, and to take one tablet of Daflux 10 mg each morning and evening orally until the day of transplantation, and then adjust the medication according to the situation.

For patients who undergo egg retrieval during special periods, such as egg retrieval during the luteal phase or egg retrieval stimulated by progesterone, since transplantation is not possible in this cycle, they generally only take one tablet of Daphaton 10 mg each morning and evening for 10 days.

If you are having an embryo transfer during the same month, please stop taking DHEA if you are taking any of the medications you are taking, such as vitamin C, coenzyme Q10, DHEA, and Euthyrox.
