Is morning sickness good or bad?

Many people say that morning sickness is good, some say it is bad, and some people think that the reaction of morning sickness is related to one's personal constitution. Morning sickness basically occurs and is a normal physiological reaction, but don't take it lightly, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. You should pay special attention to some changes in morning sickness. Generally, after morning sickness occurs, you should first clearly know some manifestations of the pregnant woman's body. Morning sickness can make the stomach and intestines become fragile and affect normal eating. Let's understand the causes of morning sickness.

Causes of morning sickness

No one knows the exact cause of morning sickness, but it is likely the result of multiple changes occurring in the mother's body, including a rapid increase in human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels in early pregnancy. The sense of smell and sensitivity to odors are heightened.

1. In early pregnancy, the level of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) increases rapidly. It's not known whether hCG directly causes nausea, but the timing is very consistent: when nausea is worst, hCG levels are also highest.

2. In early pregnancy, levels of another hormone, estrogen, rise rapidly. Estrogen is also considered a major cause of morning sickness, although other hormones may also play a role.

3. The sense of smell and sensitivity to odors increase during pregnancy. For example, it is not uncommon for a newly pregnant woman to smell sausages being fried several rooms away and to experience an immediate nausea reaction. This sensitivity may also be caused by increased estrogen levels.

4. The stomach and intestines become fragile. The gastrointestinal tract of some expectant mothers is more sensitive to various changes in early pregnancy, so they are more likely to feel uncomfortable.

5. Some researchers have suggested that some expectant mothers may feel too much psychological stress during pregnancy, so they are more likely to experience nausea and vomiting. But there is not enough evidence to support this claim. Of course, if you experience frequent nausea or vomiting, this can also increase psychological stress.
