Tinnitus in menopausal women

Tinnitus in menopausal women

Tinnitus is a very common disease and often occurs in menopausal women. In fact, menopause not only includes irritability, dizziness and headache, tinnitus is the most common symptom. Tinnitus in menopause comes from many factors, such as stress, emotional instability, and long-term exposure to noise. These are enough to cause tinnitus, and the harm caused to the patient's body and mind is also very great, which requires special attention and treatment.

Tinnitus is a common disease. Few people know that menopausal women can also experience tinnitus. Experts point out that once women reach menopause, they will experience many adverse reactions, such as: palpitations, shortness of breath, irritability, headaches, tinnitus, etc. Therefore, more attention should be paid to tinnitus during menopause.

Causes of tinnitus during menopause

1. Pressure. In recent years, the incidence of tinnitus among white-collar workers has increased significantly. Tinnitus is not only common among senior management personnel in companies, but many young white-collar workers are also troubled by it. The main manifestation is high-frequency tinnitus, similar to the sound of cicadas. Tinnitus in young and middle-aged people (especially white-collar workers) is mainly caused by high work pressure, lack of sleep and many social engagements.

2. Emotional instability. Tinnitus is very common in people with emotionally unstable conditions. Tinnitus symptoms are often severe in people with anxiety and depression. Emotional instability can cause tinnitus, and conversely, persistent tinnitus can aggravate emotional instability.

3. Long-term noise exposure. The loudest sound that the human ear can withstand is usually 90 decibels. If it exceeds this limit, even if you cannot feel it, the fragile and sensitive inner ear has been damaged. Irregular and highly irritating noise can cause greater damage to hearing. The sound intensity in karaoke bars, discos and game halls often exceeds 115 decibels. If you are often in such an environment, you are likely to suffer from tinnitus.

4. Caused by non-congenital diseases. In addition to ear diseases, other diseases may also cause tinnitus. Vascular diseases are also one of the factors that cause tinnitus, such as jugular glomus tumor, dilation of small blood vessels in the ear, vascular malformations, hemangiomas, etc. Systemic diseases can also cause tinnitus, such as autonomic nervous system disorders (autonomic nervous system disorders [Translation]: a syndrome in which psychosocial factors induce temporary disorders of some physiological functions of the human body, related changes in the neuroendocrine system, but there are no corresponding pathological changes in the tissue structure), lack of blood supply to the brain, diabetes, and malnutrition. Therefore, if you want to stay away from tinnitus, you need to seek timely treatment when you feel unwell, so as not to induce other diseases, which will be more troublesome to treat.

5. Endocrine disorders. Menopausal women often complain of tinnitus, but hearing tests are normal. In addition to tinnitus, they also have some unexplained symptoms, such as tinnitus when touching the earlobes or tapping the scalp with their hands. It is currently believed that endocrine disorders, decreased estrogen, and autonomic nervous system dysfunction in menopausal women are the main causes of tinnitus.
