How long does it take to recover from cesarean section back pain

Caesarean section is a method of childbirth that most pregnant women now choose to use during the delivery process. I believe everyone knows that childbirth is a very painful process for women. This means that the pain that women need to endure during normal delivery is very great, so if they choose a caesarean section, the pain that women need to endure will be relatively reduced. However, some people will experience symptoms of back pain after a caesarean section. So how long will it take for this to recover?

Causes of back pain after cesarean section

1. Postoperative anesthesia sequelae

The anesthesia during caesarean section is epidural anesthesia, which requires a puncture in the waist. This puncture will cause certain damage to the muscles and ligaments of the waist and back, causing postpartum low back pain. A very small number of patients may experience nerve root damage, epidural hemorrhage and other symptoms.

2. Reflex pain caused by uterine contraction

After a caesarean section, the changes in the female endocrine system will not quickly return to its pre-pregnancy state. The pelvic ligaments remain relaxed for a period of time, the abdominal muscles become weaker, and the uterus fails to fully return to its original position quickly, causing low back pain.

3. Physiological calcium deficiency

The back pain in women after cesarean section is most likely caused by physiological calcium deficiency. After giving birth, the mother consumes a lot of energy, and her body is quite weak at this time. In addition, she needs to breastfeed after giving birth, so the calcium loss in the body is serious, which can easily cause back pain.

4. Overwork

Some mothers cannot lie down during the confinement period and walk around more often, while others sit more often to watch TV and use their mobile phones.

After the confinement period, some mothers will start to be busy with various housework, such as washing clothes, cooking, taking care of babies, going to work, etc. Too many things will make women's bodies overwhelmed and cause back pain.

5. Not paying attention to waist care

Most women have to take care of their babies after giving birth. They often do not pay attention to taking care of their waists when holding their babies and have incorrect postures, which causes the center of gravity of the body to move forward, causing tension in the waist muscles. If this continues for a long time, the waist muscles will become fatigued and symptoms of postpartum back pain will appear.

6. Lack of exercise

Many women have been sitting in bed for a long time during the confinement period. Due to excessive rest, the blood circulation in the body is slow. After the confinement period, lack of exercise leads to increased abdominal fat, which increases the load on the waist muscles, causing lumbar muscle strain and low back pain.

7. Postpartum cold

If a mother suffers from back pain after a caesarean section, it may be that the waist has been exposed to cold after delivery, or that the daily life is not careful, which causes the meridians to be blocked and the meridians to function poorly, causing back pain after delivery. In addition, the low back pain may also be caused by the mother's sprained waist or congenital lumbar sacral diseases.
